Good, quick food in a travellers' atmosphere

Have eaten here quite a bit on different trips. Always prompt service, good food and good value for central Manhattan. Although the restaurant is quite large, it isn't noisey and feels like a giant railway dining car! Good for breakfast or dinner and always a table free.

This was recommended (shockingly) by our hotel around the corner. We ordered the New Yorker breakfast, without bacon for me. It was brought with bacon. I queried the order and was rudely told by the waiter 'they ALL come with bacon'. Ok, I asked, so how come the waiter who took my order had said it wouldn't be a problem.... More

The breakfast here was amazing, best ever. Wasn't too gone on the evening meal personally but others on the trip enjoyed it. Reasonably priced also

Before you walk through the door of the Pershing Square Restaurant, be prepared for the noisiest place in New York City! however, bring your appetite, because you are going to be blown away by the food! Located on 42nd street, right in front of Grand Central Station is what looks like a small place, but don't let that appearance fool... More

I'd visited Pershing Square back in 2010 during my last visit to New York City. In my experience, this restaurant has always been about service good food quickly. However, on this trip the food served was average, the service was slow and the staff were exceptionally rude to us, other diners and people in the queue. Don't bother with this... More

Old style large and popular restaurant. We met friends there early on a Saturday morning and there was a long line waiting after we finished our meal. We were not rushed by the wait staff but recommend going early to avoid a wait. Free standing building under a bridge across the street from Grand Central so mass transit options for... More

My husband & I went into Grand Central & went downstairs for lunch but it was mobbed (as usual) & we didn't want to stand in line for food & then have to hunt a table so we went back out across the street to Pershing Sq. We were glad we did! Nice place, nice building & the food was... More

Good service in a really different building. Had a nice breakfast of whole wheat waffle and strawberries. Very good, but the wheat flavor was too strong. My husband enjoyed his omelette very much. Good coffee and the baked goods in the case looked yummy.

Nice spot for breakfast, food and coffee were great. Good place to sit in and watch the busyness of New York drift by. Swift service

My family and I were staying at the Grand Hyatt across the street and went here for breakfast one weekday morning. You may have to wait a little while for a table but it is well worth the wait! Fantastic breakfast, really nice atmosphere and a nice mix of families, tourists, locals, business people etc. Would highly recommend if you... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
