Solid food...friendly service

Good local option in midtown. Very nice ambiance...solid Italian food. Very friendly service. Lunch. I had soft the delicious shell crab special. My wife had penne with red sauce and porcini. She raved about it. We're returning with friends for dinner

A private dinner meeting with family style Italian was our plan, but the food was disappointing.we started with asparagus wrapped with Italian ham, stuffed mushrooms and shrimp cocktail all of which was ok. We had spaghetti, chicken and veal. The food was basic Italain at best. Service was good.

We went to Montebello for my mother's birthday. We were a party of 9. The restaurant was very nice, service was good, the food was good, however, I expected a bit more based on the reviews. Wine list is good, but limited. We had a reservation, the place was empty but our table was not set when we got there,... More

Lunch - just ok and astoundingly expensive for the serving sizes, even in NYC. I'll never understand why restaurants cut corners on making their caesar salads pint size.

Wow! This restaurant was worth the trip to New York. Everything, well almost everything, was excellent! We had the fried calamari, the bruschetta, and gnocchi as primi piatti, then had the pork tenderloin, and steak, which were so tender and delicious. Also had the rigatoni with eggplant, chicken picatta, also all amazing and delicious. Our only disappointment was the canoli.... More

Ate here twice because I was staying at a hotel across the street. The first time, the risotto with porcini was very tasty, but I was surprised by the high prices of the salads ($17 each for simple caesar or chopped salad). A plate of mixed berries was $13! So, the next time, I ordered take out of a pasta... More

I had a pleasant lunch with my son late on a Friday afternoon. The place is quiet, the service good, and I liked my sole , simple but perfectly cooked. My son had gnocchi and that also worked out for him. It is not particularly cheap but ok given the location and quality of the food. I'll try dinner next... More

Food was nicely done and very generous. I requested a few changes to my dish which were accommodated with no problem. Also came in quite late and were happy to serve. Table settings offer more secluded and cosy areas for groups of 6 or 8. Very enjoyable even as a business traveller eating on own.

I have been to this restaurant many times for business lunches. The food has always been consistently good, plus the service is always attentive and very efficient. To me this is very important because, if you are trying to efficiently manage your time while also remaining focused on your business agenda, you do not want the distraction of worrying about... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
