A wonderful lunch

We stopped on our way across town and were pleasantly surprised by the meal, service, and wine. My wife had the crespelle which was very well done. I had the calves liver which is always a test of the quality of the chef. It was very good but could have been a bit more tender. The wine selection by... read more

This restaurant was a bit of a walk from Rockefeller Center but was worth it. There were 7 of us and we had a lovely time. The food was fabulous and the waiters were attentive and friendly. I certainly recommend this restaurant.

I went to the restaurant for dinner in about the middle of November and had as my appetizer the Eggplant Parmigiana which was delicious. For my main course I had the Grilled Salmon served with a Dijon mustard sauce. The salmon did not have much taste to it and the mustard sauce was not equal to that served elsewhere. The... More

Had dinner sent over to room -- Montebello did a nice job. Had the chicken piccata, salad and shrimp appetizer.

Our Canadian business group stopped in for a drink after a particularly long day of meetings and found the atmosphere and service fantastic, so we decided to go back for dinner the next evening. There were 11 of us. From the moment we walked in to when we left about three hours later everything was of the highest caliber. The... More

Had a business lunch with a colleague at this establishment in Midtown. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. I recommend this place for either a solid business lunch or for an intimate dinner.

Wanted a cozy place to grab a simple Italian meal and wow did we find it. Great veal scallopini and a tiramisu to die for. Not to mention the house grappa - give it a try. Service was lovely and attentive. A fine couples dinner!

We needed a restaurant in the East 50's to meet friends. Montebello was the perfect place. It was quiet, nicely decorated with a good vibe, and the food was excellent. I had the Chicken Montebello and it was one of the best chicken dishes ever. My wife had the pork tenderloin and our friends had the sausage and peppers, all... More

A private dinner meeting with family style Italian was our plan, but the food was disappointing.we started with asparagus wrapped with Italian ham, stuffed mushrooms and shrimp cocktail all of which was ok. We had spaghetti, chicken and veal. The food was basic Italain at best. Service was good.

We went to Montebello for my mother's birthday. We were a party of 9. The restaurant was very nice, service was good, the food was good, however, I expected a bit more based on the reviews. Wine list is good, but limited. We had a reservation, the place was empty but our table was not set when we got there,... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
