So if you get to McSorleys at 7th and Broadway and you should, you will be fasinated but the sawdust on the floor, the old lucky wishbones hanging on the lights from soldiers before they went to war, to the old news clippings covering every square inch on the walls to the wanted poster for John Wilkes Booth. Not to... More

Great old bar-room -with a choice of two beers and just a token gesture of a bar menu. Would be great spot to settle in of a wet evening with a few good friends. Reminds me of an old Irish pub. Having said that if you're visiting from Ireland/UK, you probably won't be interested in this!

Our family celebrated my daughters 23rd and my son's 21st at McSorleys. Simply a wonderful place to enjoy a beer, fellowship and a feel a part of NYC/Irish History.

We stopped in here when our Celtic rock band came to New York to play a show. Had to see it. Very cool. Look up the history of the bar. It really brings the bar to life. Read about all the wishbones.

This is not a place for the faint of heart or discerning tastes. If you're looking for your Carrie Bradshaw drinks, try someplace else. What they serve is in the name of the place, along with sandwiches and burgers. Being the oldest bar in NYC brings in the tourists, but it's definitely a neighborhood place to meet your mates and... This place was a recommendation of a local, we tried it out, the beer was good (only two varieties of beer - light and dark) menu was simple and reasonably priced, the histroy displayed all over the walls was really interesting to see. If you have time before you go, listen to the podcast about the place - a lot... More

We went to McSorley's because were in the neighborhood and you have to if you are nearby - just once. It is nothing special.

My boyfriend and I heard great things about this pub. It is the oldest one in NYC. Abraham Lincoln and J.F.K used to hang out at this very place. When you walk in, it's like you're walking into history. It has a wonderful rustic feel and smells the way a pub should smell. Their beer was very good and the bartender was... More

know which one you want, cause otherwise you're in trouble! And that's all they have anyway. Have your beer with a paper plate of cheese, saltines and onions -- it's perfect. This is such a great NY experience -- the sawdust on the floor, the tiny ladies room (added as an afterthought --women weren't allowed in for years). A great... More

The oldest bar in NYC. A little tucked away in the East Village but this Irish bar shouldn't be missed. Memorabilia everywhere from Houdini to Fireman's hats to Police badges. Bartenders are good, cheeseburger was small but good and the beer although without much flavor was good enough to have more than one.
