One of the few casual chophouses in the Times Square area, this Heartland Brewery combines the rich character of a steakhouse from yesteryear with a modern restaurant sensibility. In addition to a beer-friendly menu specializing in Black Angus beef, you'll find a museum quality collection of pre-Prohibition beer artifacts, including back-bar sculptures, trays, and photographs. Three spacious private dining rooms, all of which have their own separate bars, are available for parties.

Great food and service

In NYC for the July 4th holiday, stopped in for dinner. I had the lemon chicken, my husband had the filet. Both excellent! Only con, not enough vegetable selection on menu. Basically asparagus. Great service, food was hot when brought to table, and quick. Stop in, everything from burgers, chicken... read more

Times Square is overrun with food. We'd been all over midtown Manhattan, and we were starving. We passed up the street vendors and chain restaurants, and went searching for something genuinely New York. This is risky, because you don't know what you're getting until you've committed to it. We got lucky. The good: The service. The hostess greeted us as... More

Stopped here to eat after touring the Empire State Building because it was right there and we were hungry. Turned out to have excellent micro brews (get a sample flight) and food. Definitely recommended! Also the staff was super nice.

We stopped at the Heartland Brewery Chophouse because it is right across the street from the Stephen Sondheim theatre where we saw the musical "Beautiful" about Carol King. We had 5:00 PM reservations and at 4:30 PM walked right in to be seated. I can't say enough about the great service that we received from our server Rashad E. who... More

Very good service. Nice salad with chopped salad, chicken, grapes, and delicious toast points! Other meals included the portobello mushroom sandwich, fish and chips and the filet mignon sandwich. Everyone happy with their choice.Right across the street from the Sondheim theathre.

We stopped in for a snack before seeing a show. The choices of appetizers was plentiful and those we chose were great. The pretzel was the biggest hit! All of the beer we tried was cold and delicious! Great service and a nice stop!

Stopped in for a drink and appetizer before the theatre on a weekday. Not very busy so we sat at the bar. Bartenders friendly and accommodating. Appetizers took a while (30 minutes) to be served. But when arrived were good

We visited as a group of 7 and were able to get seated almost immediately. The server was ok nothing great, but the food made up for it. We had a range of the menu and everything was cooked and served ok. Would recommend this restaurant and would return.

We ran in here for a quick bite in the afternoon and once again for drinks before going to a show. Both visits were great -- you didn't feel like you were in the middle of such a tourist area. For the beer lovers, the selection is great! The bar is friendly and the bar staff very friendly and welcoming.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
