Good Brazilian Food

The place is small, but cozy, with about 10 small tables which can be moved together for larger groups. The staff is pleasant, the food good, prices reasonable. I had a large glass of very tasty sangria, a delicious salad and sauted chicken with rice and beans. Portions were generous & filling... read more

It's a tiny little "hole in the wall" resturant with about 10-12 seats. What it lacks in size in makes up in food. The food is excellent, service is solid and prices are fair for NYC. However, if you are looking for a late dinner, after 9:15 pm, don't bother coming here. They will not seat anyone after 9:30pm as... More

There are some places you keep going back to, this is Rice N' Beans for me. I randomly stopped in while walking down 9th ave in 2008. I have been faithfully coming back since. They have classic Brazilian dishes and have been adding more options over time. They also recently renovated the restaurant, creating a true Brazilian vibe. It's colorful... More

If you want real Brazilian food just like you'll find in Brazil, get over to this place. We had appetizers, entrees, and desserts and everything was wonderful and best of all, authentic Brazilian cooking. The servers and chef are from Brazil, and our server said a lot of the ingredients are imported from Brazil. My entire family including three teens... More

Was very curious about this small restaurant as wanted to try something different given the many options in the City. Friendly and attentive staff - food portions were more than adequate. As a party of 3, we ordered 3 empanadas, two mains and a soup once we saw the plates of our fellow diners. That was more than enough. My... More

We were staying in the Times Square area and wanted a place that was not a tourist trap or incredibly pricey. This fit the bill AND had incredible food and service. The portions are huge and there is something for everyone. Having never had true Brazilian food (other than the steakhouse variety) we asked for suggestions. My husband had fish... More

We visited in September. This is a very small, but very popular and atmospheric restaurant. This was recommended to us by some locals and we were not disappointed. Every dish we tried was delicious, with a very cared for and home-made feel. We will definitely be searching this place out again when we next visit the city.

Small about 12 tables but cosy. Outstanding food and very reasonable by New York standards. A short 10 minute walk from Time Square.

This is a tiny restaurant but worth a try if you can get a table. It is said to be Brazilian cuisine. My wife and I try to eat here every time we visit NYC. It is close to the theatre district. We have never had a bad meal here.

Whenever we see a Broadway show, or go to midtown Manhattan for any reason, we find ourselves drawn to Rice 'n' Beans. My husband and I love this place. It's like taking a trip out of the country, exotic and quaint in atmosphere, and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. We love their chicken and rice dishes, and the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
