We're back!

My wife and I used to eat there when it first opened, over 10 years ago. In fact, we ate there so often that even though we liked it, we got tired of it and stopped going. Then last week she said, "How about Rice 'n' Beans?" Sure, I said. If anything, it's even better now. I had the feijoada,... read more

A friend of mine told me about this place. It's very small but very good! We did not have a reservation but they got us in. The wait staff was so nice. It's very easy for a vegetarian too! I got a shrimp dish that was amazing.

I love this place. I come to New York a couple times a year, and try to eat at this restaurant at least once each time. Like everyone else has said, the cheese balls are delicious, but the main courses are also excellent. I love the chicken and rice dish with fried plantains on the side. Everything is very tasty.... The manager was really keen that we should enjoy Brazilian food, and was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. However the food is very heavy, a lot of carbs and not particularly flavoursome or distinctive. Presentation is not great either. Such a shame as it had been recommended by one of the travel guides and we really wanted to try authentic... More

The food at this sweet and charming restaurant is the best brazilian food I've had in nyc and even Rio. I'm portuguese and have been to brazil twice so far and I have to say this place is like having grandma in the kitchen. From the caipirinhas to the calde verde soup and of course the tasty fejoiada - I... More

We came across this restaurant on halloween night. Its a small place on 9th ave. The food, drinks and service were wonderful. My husband had empanada's and the pork chops with rice and beans.. He couldn't stop raving about how great they were. We saw the people next to us eating something unusual. It turned out to be their seasonal... More

We happened upon this small Brazilian restaurant when we were hungry and decided to give it a try especially after we saw a TripAdvisor decal on the door. It was small but tastefully decorated which indicated attention to detail. The water was just attentive to detail in serving us and made helpful suggestions for a diabetic member of our party.... This restaurant is true authentic Brazilian food. It is a tiny space but cozy and delicious. Their rice and beans are amazing and the pao de quiejo is a must!! Desserts are wonderful. Service was friendly and prompt. Prices are right on. Even play great Brazilian music. In my opinion this food is the perfect meal and so I ate... More

I love coming to this restaurant. Consistently good food, music is great, bar specials delicious, and service always friendly. Have been many times and each time I bring someone new, they declare they will return as well. Keep up the good work!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
