I work in the neighborhood and stumbled upon this place which was next door to a restaurant that I was heading to for lunch, but had closed! So I went to "Rice 'n' Beans" and have been back 3 times in the last couple of weeks. If the weather here in NYC was not so cold it would have been... More

My friend and I like black beans (I lived in Brazil for 11 years) and after a movie nearby, we decided to try out this restaurant. Clean, nice décor and quick service (only one other table was occupied). We ordered a beef empanada ($2.50) which was okay. I had the rice, beans and sweet plantains ($12.95) - the yellow rice... My husband and I love it come here. When we are in the area we try to set our day up so we can eat here. I could have chosen to go anywhere for my birthday dinner and without a thought I chose Rice N Beans. Its very small and quant, the staff is friendly and the food is consistently... More

We ate at this small Brazilian restaurant one night before going to the theatre. The service was quick and friendly. We started off with an assorted appetizer platter of cheese puffs, fried sweet plantain and fried yucca. Wished for some sort of dipping sauce for yucca. It was on the dry side. One of us ordered the rice, bean and... More

We happened upon this restaurant by accident, but we were glad we did. The food was simple yet flavorful. It was small and intimate. The chicken leblon was yummy!

This is a very small restaurant near the theater district with a Brazilian menu. The rice, beans and plantains dish was very tasty. Ditto for the roasted chicken, the black bean soup, and the chicken risotto with fried plantains. Very quiet, very intimate. Just don't sit by the door if it's cold outside!

Went to this restaurant with my daughter for one of our favourite brazilian dishes: feijoada. Did get plenty, nice little pot but that was about it, got plain rice, a bit of farofa and only after i specifically requested it, no vinaigrette. Why do I complain, because I expected after reading some reviews a proper brazilian dish served how it... More

This is a tiny hole in the wall restaurant near the Broadway theaters. Decor is plain and simple, but quite acceptable. I had the house special casserole for $22. It was good and filling. I understand that it was authentic Brazilian.
