Gino is your above-average, low-key Italian neighborhood restaurant in the UES. I have eaten Italian all over the five boroughs, and while it's decently priced for pretty good, white table cloth serviced food, I don't know why anyone would kill themselves to get here for pasta in red sauce. Gino's is the best good that i have tried in new York City, excellent service, food is just outstanding and presented just right, the real food from Italy is served here and oh the walls and the atmosphere outstanding. It is a must try. more

This is a place we come back to each time we are in NYC. The food is simple Italian, not gormet, but delicious and consistant. The waiters have all been there for decades as have most of the customers. It is a local spot, reminds me of Galatoire's in New Orleans. The veal is wonderful, as is the osso buco... more
