I'm not usually a tough reviewer but my second visit to FOAF was disappointing. Had to sit at the window bar because they were full. A nice table behind us sat empty from the time we walked in to the time we paid our bill and left. Not sure why but 2 of the 3 of us commented on how... More

A very quaint and low-key resto for a crisp, December late afternoon, early evening meal... especially after speed shopping through the City without a hat or gloves and dodging all the Christmas spirit in mid-town on Santacon weekend. Yes, we needed a hide-out and fireplace away from the street. We found all of that at Friend of a Farmer. Cozy... More

Great neighborhood restaurant. The food is consistently good, the service good and relatively quiet for a NY restaurant. We eat here often...

LOVED the chicken pot pie. It was the perfect meal for a cold winter's day. Place is cute and quaint. It gets busy during prime lunch hours so would recommend coming early or having a reservation.

We had called for reservations about a month in advance only to be told they were completely booked for Thanksgiving. Then 48 hours before I called again to be given a 1:30pm seating for 3 people. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived, so we got to our table about 2:00 pm. There was a party of 10 ahead... More

As visitors from Australia we were excited to find a venue offering an affordable traditional thanksgiving feast. They ambitiously ran 5 sittings on the day and although we were worried about feeling rushed it all worked seamlessly once we overcame the 30 min delay in being seated. Food was delicious and the cocktails divine. Would love to come back and... More

A charming place close to Union Square that has great potential, but is lacking. The one smiling, genuinely friendly person we met was Steven, who was hosting on Thanksgiving day. Kudos to him, otherwise this would have been a two star stop. Food was fresh but the pepper used was excessive. I felt our meal was rushed for how much... More

This is a great little place in East Village just off Union Square. The chicken pot pie was fabulous! They also have a solid wine list and friendly service. Recommended,

We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident. It is a small charming restaurant. We both had the shepherd's pie, and it was good. At first glance the entree seemed somewhat small, but after we finished we both thought it was enough food. The service was good.
