Great food, Great Staff, Tight Quarters. Terrific Restaurant

A group of us went for dinner. We met in the bar area and once we had all arrived were promptly seated in the upstairs dining room. The restaurant has a great homey feel. The tables are very close together the tables in the corners have a bit more room around them. We were in the corner by the... read more

Our table for 8 was prebooked but when we arrived we were told our table was still in use but would not be long. I asked where we could go to get a drink whilst waiting and was told they didn't have anywhere. We were directed to a canopy on the front of the building which had an overhead heater... More

We (two couples) stumbled across this delightful, rustic restaurant on a recent visit to NYC. It was wonderful to eat non-processed, fresh produce and not have an overly expensive bill to pay at the end of the meal. The staff were very helpful, polite and extremely welcoming...so good we went back on our final morning in NYC. Although 'the husbands'... More

just in Burlington Vermont and this place seems more like a place in Vermont than any of the actual places I ate in in Vermont except of course it's in the middle of New York City. Sat by the fireplace. unfortunately the goat cheese and artichoke soup which tasted so yummy was full of onions which make me sick. I... More

I was very excited to get a reservation at this restaurant while visiting for the Westminster Dog show. I had an unexpected health issue that prevented me from eating certain foods. Our waiter Alan was very sympathetic and extremely helpful in suggesting foods that I could eat. He even had the kitchen remake the fries because they usually put garlic... More

Met at friend I haven't seen in awhile for brunch. This was her suggestion and she raved about it. Often, people will tell me something is wonderful and after I try it, I am left wondering if we are even from the same planet. For once, this was not the case. She was spot on. On a very cold day,... Went for lunch with my husband, had a lovely meal, the service was excellent. The food divine, if you want healthy food or comfort food you will find it here. Every thing was so fresh I ate every vegetable on my plate. My husband had a burger, it was delicious as well. We will definitely be back. I would like... More

This is a charming 2 floor cottage on quiet Irving Place. It gets crowded but they were efficient in managing the people waiting outside in the heated enclosed vestibule. Seating is very tight as is typical in NYC, especially in older buildings. The 5 of us especially recommend the blueberry pancakes, sausage, and the special omelette with blue cheese. They... More
