As with a lot of NYC restaurants, especially in the East Village, this is a small space that would be a challenge to move around and hear people when it is crowded. Cash only. For an appetizer we had the bruschette with eggplant, capers, olives, and pecorino cheese. It was extremely flavorful and very good. The bread didn't taste as... More

This restaurant was a bit off the beaten track but definitely worth a visit. We went for lunch and both had a delicious grilled calamari and veggie salad. It was made with the freshest ingredients and beautifully presented. The service was spot on. Every time our water got to the half way point it was refreshed.

Great Italian meal prior to seeing the show "Stomp" at the Orpheum theater nearby. They were generous with the crusty bread and kept our water glasses full. The bruschetta, lasagna and veal were tasty. The tomato and mozzarella salad was also quite good. My 4 year old couldn't get enough of the fresh mozzarella. They only take cash, so be... More

Had a good experience here...had the steak with truffle mash...wasn't nothing special didn't come with veg which is a disappointment but at the same time I can't fault the food. Just wouldn't rave about it...not dirt cheap but not expensive. Atmosphere is weird, there's a poky bar as soon as you walk through the door and locals all look you... More

We booked a table here for Sunday night. Nice location in East Village. Interesting decor inside and friendly staff. We had a selection of Brushetta which was all very tasty. Unfortunately, the pasta wasn't anything special.

By far the best restaurant that I ate in in NYC. The food was incredible, reasonably priced and the owners serve you themselves which is a very nice touch. The wine was very reasonably priced considering the high quality (which is not easy to find in NY). The night I was in there myself and my wife were the only... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
