We booked a table here for Sunday night. Nice location in East Village. Interesting decor inside and friendly staff. We had a selection of Brushetta which was all very tasty. Unfortunately, the pasta wasn't anything special.

Great, friendly personal service! Crisp, crunchy bruschetta, good, well cooked pasta. Would recommend for a casual evening On the down side, no cards accepted

By far the best restaurant that I ate in in NYC. The food was incredible, reasonably priced and the owners serve you themselves which is a very nice touch. The wine was very reasonably priced considering the high quality (which is not easy to find in NY). The night I was in there myself and my wife were the only... More

I had a great time last night. Called the owner from hotel in Times Square and worth the trek. Take the shuttle to Grand Central, then the 6 train to Astor Place. Emerge from the subway and go eadt about a block. I walked in and found locals dining here. There was me, 2couples, and a group, then about 8... More

We had an early dinner at this place so the restaurant was almost empty, but the place felt welcoming and the waiter was really nice with us. The bruschetta starters are delicious (take a mix to try different sorts) and the pasta are also a treat. Al dente for sure! The manager offered the expressos and grappa, well done there!... More

Via della Pace is a very small restaurant but very quaint. The staff was very friendly but not as prompt as I like in terms of asking if you'd like another glass of wine, refilling water glasses etc. I had ordered the trio of bruschette for the table and it came after the appetizers had already been served. It was... More

We brought a couple who have never been to New York. The problem: it was last minute and we picked a Saturday at the height of the holiday season and had little time. Obviously we couldn't go to any well known place near Macy's because of long wait times. I checked Trip Advisor and picked this because of reviews. We... More

very nice place to relax after NY Marathon. With my family, I had a very nice dinner. The service was superb, we got a queit corner (on our request) and the steak was cocked 100% to my instruction. The wine list consisted of several choises in lower end of the price list, but acceptable (unless you prefer a claret)

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
