We visited with a family of 5 - ages 11 to 16. We were promptly seated and drink orders taken. Waitress was very attentive. Our orders came quickly and everyone gave meals a thumbs up! Good atmosphere- would go again.

Meeting family and always on the lookout for someplace new. This one had good reviews so we met up here. Shabby chic interior, really interesting interior. Asked the waitress for daily specials. She said there were none. A few minutes later another employee handed out a preprinted daily special sheet. Go figure. Anyway we had a few brucetta-one with zucchini... More

I usually don't like giving good reviews two times in a row, but for this, I will make an exception. My daughter Brooke from Florida DEMANDED that we go there again! Wow!!!!! Gio (manager? Owner? ) doted on her like the last time! I'm not gonna list the things we had. All were over the top!!! Again, you guys made... More

We went there based on prior reviews. Such a disappointment! Poor service, not attention to customer service. Food was not good. Lots of water in the sauce, poor quality of meat used, untasty cheese. And on top of that, you have to pay in cash (really??). Bad experience overall.

Decided on Via Della Pace as a close neighborhood spot for dinner with some friends. We were not disappointed! The atmosphere is quaint and welcoming. It was a little bit loud but not to the point of being disturbing. We all ordered different main courses and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their choices. I had the lasagna and was able to finish... Monday lunch in the East Village brought us to this comfortable small restaurant where we had a fine meal. Started with a very good Capucino and a generous selection of cured meats, cheese and even some honey for dipping. My wife enjoyed the lasagna and I had a nice chicken Milanese. Prices are reasonable and the service was very good.

As with a lot of NYC restaurants, especially in the East Village, this is a small space that would be a challenge to move around and hear people when it is crowded. Cash only. For an appetizer we had the bruschette with eggplant, capers, olives, and pecorino cheese. It was extremely flavorful and very good. The bread didn't taste as... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
