Very good but way expensive

The first time we visited New York we went to Cipriani in Wall Street and it was great. We have also eaten at Cipriani's in Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro twice, which was amazing. So we thought we would have lunch on New Year's Day at Harry Cipriani's. What a mistake that was. The 'welcome' we received when we... More

The restaurant overlooks 5th ave, the staff is so attentive we had breakfast there and from their bread basked to their eggs - it was the best breakfast ever!!!!

Harry Cipriani's is a very fashionable place, full of people who want to be seen and secondarily, to see who is looking. It is on the pretentious side and the food was surprisingly mediocre. I was there for the irthday celebration of a friend whose wife spares no expense. Appetizers were good but skimply, main course was tepid. A disappointment.

Delicious Italian food and ambience..still a great scene even at lunchtime. Great service from Sergio and his crew. Food always yummy. Location is wonderful being right on Fifth Ave by GM building and Sherry Netherland. Been going there for years and always enjoyed ourselves...people watching is also a treat here.

We were staying in the (excellent) Sherry Netherland, which is next door to this restaurant, so thought we'd give it a go. We really should have read a menu before trying! The place was very crowded, with white-jacketed waiters dashing around. One positive was they were VERY quick on turn-around: no sooner was a table finished, then the next people... More

We went as a party of 10 comprising six adults and four children for lunch. On entering, I thought' We are not welcome here' but it was too late to just walk out so I decided that we all would just have a quick drink and leave. The other reason we did not leave immediately was that we were all... More

I can't decide which is worse: the bickering waiters, the bellicose patrons, the tiny tables, or the uninspiring overpriced food. The place is loud, crowded with noisy patrons and staff out of a cheap Italian opera. The food is unmemorable. We couldn't believe that Harry Cipriani could be this horrid, so we stupidly came a second time to dine. Fool... More

We went to this restaurant 'thanks' to our hotel concierge. The staff are arrogant (with the odd exception to be fair), the food is mediocre and ridiculously priced for what you get. There are so many better restaurants in New York that it astounds me that anyone would recommend this place, yet due to its location it is and probably... More

We live in NYC for most of our lives and know good food, good service and good value, all of which was totally absent at Harry Cipriani's !!! From the second we arrived for our early reservation we were first ignored, and then made to wait. After a prolong time, they accommodated us. The menu, although diverse the prices were... More

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
