My wife and I first went into this bar in 2004, when we were staying in the Hotel opposite. It.was a down to earth honest working mans bar, mainly frequented by construction workers having a beer on there way home after work.I noticed on line that the original owners lease was due and.an american actress,s father had bought the bar..All... Good place to visit, they had great local beer and my husbands burger was good. but they mixed up our order and my vegi burger was literally a vegetable patty with a slice of barely there cheese. No salad or anything. Still it tasted good but was abit disappointed. Nice place to watch sports and drink beer though!

I felt uncomfortable immediately when walking into this bar. We ordered a drink despite our reservations so we could give it a chance. I couldn't wait until we finished our drinks so we could leave. The doorman was rude. The bartender was rude. The other patrons were rude. It was an awful experience and we would NEVER return here again.... More

This bar was just around the corner from our hotel, so we dropped in on a couple of occasions for a drink. It's nothing to rave about and I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to visit, but if you're passing by and need a drink then why not? Quite a large bar with a few tables lined along... More

Hurried meal on a chilly night after a show. Very crowded, service was OK, food was OK, nothing exceptional when so many exceptional places are close by.

Wife and I were barhopping in NYC. We stopped in. Two sides to Smith's; bar and restaurant. We sat at the bar. Beer prices are good, drafts about $5. Bartender and other staff were fun. Note: this is NYC, so guys expect to get some ribbing. It's all good. Later it filled with a good drinking pleasant crowd. We enjoyed... More

Not really sure what to write as a review as it is a fairly basic bar. We were there during a key game so although it was mid-afternoon and very quiet, it was a little odd. The staff behind the bar didn't seem to know anything about what they offered so every question (like "do you serve Califonian white?" or... More

Great food. Awesome breakfast. Right across from the hotel. Been in business there for 62 years and it's easy to see why.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
