There were no empty tables in this deli, very busy place when we went at lunchtime. If you want a quiet calm meal this is not the place to go. Once you walk in the door the first thing you see is the cheesecake display, full of huge cheesecakes. We ordered the mishmash and the Tiger Woods sandwich. Both were... more

Ridiculously overpriced for ordinary fare, with some cheesy/cheapo features given the prices--weak coffee, no Equal sweetener offered, no half-and-half for the coffee (yes, they have regular milk in those little plastic cups for restaurants that want to fool their customers). If you really want good deli food in mid-town, the Carnegie Deli is far superior in terms of food, service,... more

My husband and I went here after seeing a show based on some ratings of NY delis. I would rate it as ok. We both got the 1/2 sandwich and soup combo. My pastrami was much better than his corned beef, which was on the leaner (drier) side. The matzah ball soup was very good and not too salty. We... more

Stage Deli's cole slaw is the worst thing I've ever eaten in my life. It tasted like some kind of chemical. I wonder if the chef can't read, and instead of vinegar he used turpentine. I could still taste it the next day even after drinking a great deal of water and chewing gum. I wouldn't wish this cole slaw... more

We happened onto Stage Deli on our trek through Times Square. It looked cozy and inviting, with an open booth by the window. We weren't disappointed. Allan's sandwich was at least 4 inches tall, and my salad was yummy. There were lots of movie star pics on the wall we assumed were visitors from times gone by. The price seemed... more

My husband wanted to get a snack before a show, "just a sandwich", he says. He ordered the #13: Conan O'brien brisket, corned beef and swiss cheese. I was fine with a glass of Pinot Noir and getting a few bites from his sandwich, he had a beer. So this gigantic sandwich arrives, honestly it was enough for 4 adults.... more

This was our first meal in the States having arrived late on a Saturday night. The food was quite nice, the portions huge but our waiter was a grumpy, unfriendly chap who rather deflated our excitement of finally being in New York after years of wanting to come. Obviously sick of the sight of tourists! more

I feel the Roxy Deli has a better Hot Pastrami sandwich. I also did not like the overall atmosphere of the Stage Deli. Everyone says to go their, but I do not find it that good. more

We'd been told we needed to go here for cheesecake, so we did one late night. The regular menu says there is a $10 minimum per person to order, so we told them we just wanted a piece of cheesecake and should we get it to go? No, they said, we could sit down. The cheesecake slices are enormous, and... more
