I was impressed with this restaurant the first time I visited some months because of the ambiance, service, ok food and great groupon deal. They have hired extra help and ruined the ambiance and service, leaving only the ok food. Now's it's not worth the visit. The service staff is now so far from French or even serviceable, it's such... A Groupon introduction on a cold winter's night has us already planning a return in the springtime. This charming old building in the Village was ablaze in sparkling tiny white lights when we arrived. The ambience was lovely with soft lighting, old wood and a comfortable 'buzz' noise level even when it got crowded later. The young waiter (a friend... More

We had gone to this resturant a couple of years ago with a Groupon and got another Groupon Two Three courses and a bottle of wine we both started with Mussels which were Delish then one had the Steak and frites black angus sirloin with great Bearnaise Sauce and the other had The Black Linquino with mixed seafood which both... We ate at Chez Jacqueline on New Year's Eve. The food was excellent, we could have been in France. Pappardelle with bolognese sauce was delicious - the meat sauce had been cooked with herbs and had a complex, mature flavour. There were a lot of French classics on the menu, a celeriac salad that was perfect. My partner had mussels... More

Had I read the reviews before trying this restaurant, I would've said No Way. However, the food was fine. The $28 pre-theater dinner was a lot of fine food. I had mussels first, truly sweet and delicious. I'll go back and sit at the bar for a dish of mussels when I want a small meal. The pappardelle al ragu... More

We were walking aimlessly in the Village, looking for a decent, reasonably priced restaurant, and we found it at Chez Jacqueline, a modest little place on MacDougal at Houston. We were greeted like old friends by Anna, who seated us at a window table and made us feel warm on a chilly night. The dirty martini was perfect, the Bordeaux... More

Bought a Groupon for three course dinner for two. Best investment ever. Made reservation and asked for a table by a window. Got it. Asked for my steak medium rare. Got it. Two appetizers. Both good . Artichoke stuffed mushrooms and calamari. Try the caramelized apple dessert. Liked it better than the Creme Brûlée. Will definitely be back.

I, the kid ordered a burger which was horrible(worst I've had). We also ordered a steak(which was over cooked)and squid ink pasta which was a mess. The only good thing was the grilled shrimp and the ice cream. Definitely don't waste your money on the groupon and just don't go. My dad ordered a lime and... It never came.

J'adore Chez Jacqueline. I thought I'd get that out of the way at the beginning. If you're looking for authentic French food, wonderful service and excellent value, look no further. My husband is French. We met and lived together in France so we chose a French restaurant for our first anniversary living in New York. I had the foie gras... More
