Ok for what you pay

We were very hungry so we chose the first restaurant we saw. Big mistake. The bruschetta con pomodoro was ok, but our pepperoni pizza was really disgusting. You would think that you actually get a good pizza in litte Italy. We had to ask twice for our bill and after waiting 10 minutes, there was an already charged 18% gratuity.... More

The food was great. The ceasar salad was very large my daughter and I shared. My husband had the Lamb Shank and angel hair pasta and he said it was fantastic. My daughter and I both gnocchi with gorgonzola cheese sauce which tasted homemade. We weren't rushed even though it was very busy. Would go back again

Dropped in for the $5 special slice of pizza and drink. Wanted to try a piece of real Italian pizza while in Little Italy for the afternoon. Good taste and large slice. Not a lot of options for toppings but tasty. Good deal.

You would think that an Italian restaurant in Little Italy would knock your socks off. Think again. I go to NYC a few times a year and I was suckered in like a tourist. When we sat down, the waiter arrived about 10 minutes later. That is a long time when you're starving. I asked him what appetizers he recommended... More

I had two great Easter's dinners in this restaurant, enjoying each time an excellent atmosphere and Italian cuisine. I am certain that the lamb, baba and pastiera are the best made in NYC and remind you of South of Italy, even if you never been there.

My friends and I decided that the slice of pizza for $5 would be good but was then told it was not available and then promptly shoved inside. After being seated we were given the menu (which was incredibly over priced) and decided to order 2 between 5 people. This did not go down well with the owner who then... More

After spending the past 2 evenings at other restaurants on Mulberry, we decided to try Taormina. It was crowded which is usually a sign of good food. If we looked closer, we would have seen a lot of frustrated diners waiting for their bread and water. We became part of that crowd. The bread was not warm. The antipasto was... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
