A disappointment.

You'd think an institution such as this would serve food worthy of its legend. It's like walking into a dimly lit diner. The food is unimpressionable. The service was super fast. Just not my sort of place. It gets three stars for its landmark status but that's about it.

This was a spontaneous lunch choice and it turned out to be a great surprise. Busy diner and bar with a 15 minute table wait so we sat at the counter and thoroughly enjoyed the live music throughout our meal. This eatery presents itself as "a classic original American diner with a Brazilian twist" and includes daily Brazilian menu specials... More

I know this is a second review, and I have not revisited what I wrote previously, so this is a review without influence from the first visit. It was a little later in the lunch period, so the place didn't look as crowded as the first visit, but the wait to get a table seemed to take longer than I... More

Its got an appealing retro look and the tables are not on top of each other, but the food is expensive for what is no better than a greasy spoon. The wait staff is too busy chatting with each other up to refill your coffee. We came for brunch on a Sunday and everything took forever. The burger was supposed... More

Had a very short wait for a table for 5 during the busy lunch cover - bustling place with a cool band playing in the background.whilst we were there. We all selected different meals and all were really good. Good choice of drinks/cocktails. Great service.

We had a late snack there, my daughter had a banana split and I had cherry pie, and it was great. The restaurant was very dark and there was a man with two women making out, ugh. Not a great place for your 13 yo daughter. We also had breakfast there, nothing special, but wasn't horrible. Very young and hip... More

We where visiting NYC for the holiday markets and had just arrived a little early so we decided to go in and have something to eat. This place gets crowed fast. Being the rush the lady sat us right away then someone came by to take our order this was all within a few minutes. While waiting for our order... More

Got the chicken sandwich and that was good. I came with friends and wasn't expecting the food to be good and have a variety. I liked it!

I knew of the Coffee Shop but had never eaten there. On Fri. I was visiting the Union Square Christmas Village and decided to stop into the Coffee Shop for lunch. It was pretty cold that day so when I sat down I asked for coffee. The pot behine the bar was almost empty so I ask for some fresh... More

I had a terrific omelet for lunch - hey it's a coffee shop and like a diner there's breakfast all day. The ingrediants were all fresh with real meat (no processed stuff). The service was excellent. No matter what you order, I'm sure it will be wonderful.
