Classic indoor diner seating, nice outdoor seating area. Good but not extensive breakfast menu - nice fruit/veggie juices. Server rather indifferent - couldn't find her initially to be seated outside (inside hostess told me to go back outside to wait for "someone out there" to seat me. Turned out the "someone" was standing on sidewalk down the street talking to... More

I know this place is an institution but we went in with no expectations and were pleased . We were seated promptly, even on a busy Sunday, and our waitress was friendly and professional. Very sweet. We all enjoyed our meal. Live music was being set up as we left. If I was a local I would return, but I... More

Before we officially booked our plans to the city I was looking around for coffee shops and came across this one. When we first arrived I was like okay this fine. Then we were seated and as I was looking at the time place and out the window was really pleased. The staff there was great. The food was prompt... More

Tasty food, lousy and indifferent service. The waiter acted like he couldn't wait to get away from our table.

You'd think an institution such as this would serve food worthy of its legend. It's like walking into a dimly lit diner. The food is unimpressionable. The service was super fast. Just not my sort of place. It gets three stars for its landmark status but that's about it.

Hi There - First and foremost, Thanks so much for your business and for your feedback. I'm sorry that you didn't have an enjoyable experience and that you were unimpressed by the food. It's alarming to hear things like this as we pride ourselves in our food prep and consistency. We have a new kitchen team in place that has... More

This was a spontaneous lunch choice and it turned out to be a great surprise. Busy diner and bar with a 15 minute table wait so we sat at the counter and thoroughly enjoyed the live music throughout our meal. This eatery presents itself as "a classic original American diner with a Brazilian twist" and includes daily Brazilian menu specials... More

I know this is a second review, and I have not revisited what I wrote previously, so this is a review without influence from the first visit. It was a little later in the lunch period, so the place didn't look as crowded as the first visit, but the wait to get a table seemed to take longer than I... More

Its got an appealing retro look and the tables are not on top of each other, but the food is expensive for what is no better than a greasy spoon. The wait staff is too busy chatting with each other up to refill your coffee. We came for brunch on a Sunday and everything took forever. The burger was supposed... More

Had a very short wait for a table for 5 during the busy lunch cover - bustling place with a cool band playing in the background.whilst we were there. We all selected different meals and all were really good. Good choice of drinks/cocktails. Great service.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
