Delicious!

After a long day of seeing the city, we landed here at the recommendation of friends. The atmosphere is great - perfect for a small crowd. Our party of 9 split into 2 booths. We ordered a salad to share and 2 large pizzas. Everyone had enough to eat. The food was hot, delicious and affordable... read more

If this pizza place was anywhere but NYC, it would be very good pizza. Unfortunately, with so much competition this places falls to the middle of the pack. My fiancé and I ate here around 9pm on a Saturday and were only the second table filled when we entered. We took a seat in one of the wooden booths, which... More

We also went to Lombardi's and I can tell you this pizza tastes better. The dough was soft and a little crunchy, with a little crust, the cheese was fresh and the sauce was really good, and not too much. You should definitely give it a try!

Let's face it I would not take a special trip out there for pizza, it was good but wait in a 40 minute line, no! Tiny place. We got take outs and ate at home, much quicker ! It is on Bleeker str nearby to Murrays Cheese Shop and some good shops. A good area to be in, so shop,... More

This may be the best pizza in NYC. We traveled to another pizza place only to find it closed and ventured to John's on accident. It was a very happy accident! After a short wait, we sat in a tiny booth to enjoy a fine pizza pie. Typically, I am a person who enjoys the Chicago style pizza, but John's... More

Great pizza. Very old establishment. Has been around for a long time. That says it all. My husband is very particular with his pizza and he loves it. Typical NY pizza. Very crisp crust

This was our 5th or 6th visit to John's, and it was excellent as always. The pizza is thin crust and crisp. Toppings are fresh, sauce is delicious. John's on Bleeker is very informal (wooden tables and booths, lots of carving in them!). No reservations, no slices, cash only. Beer and wine (the wine 'list' is merlot, cabernet and chardonnay....get... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
