Tom Brady knows his pizza

Had to try this pizza when we saw Tom Brady's picture eating their pizza in the restaurant's window. Jon Stewart too. I loved this pizza. Not too much sauce-I hate runny pizza. It has a very thin crust. The cheese was perfect. The actual restaurant is just a little place without fancy decorations... read more

The 'quirky' surroundings belie the delicious pizza. Graffitied walls and tables (with a slightly sticky feel), make this an unpretentious visit and the pizza was great value and delicious. We ordered a large pizza for the two of us, it was too large (forgetting we're stateside). Don't order the wine, it comes in a thimble sized glass and had clearly... More

I take all out of town guests to John's on Bleeker and always get smiles and approvals. From the hole in the wall, non-pretentious atmosphere to the simply awesome pizza, you can't go wrong here. The crust has a great taste with just a hint of sweetness, ingredients are always fresh and the sauce is amazing. John's is a requirement... More

Well-Sited on the corner of Broadway, it was a good stopping place on our way back from the 9/11 Memorial. Tables are small, but wood, not Formica and we were seated by an open French window anyway, making it very pleasant. Although it was 1pm, the brunch menu was still offered, with about five choices for all four courses. We... More

We wanted to try John's Pizza because of the positive reviews. We wanted to compare like to like so we ordered the same toppings, pepperoni and mushrooms, as what we ordered at Lombardi's. John's crust is very good - a tie - but the overall flavor was more bland - perhaps it was due to the toppings being a tad... More

Solid NYC pizza but not worth traveling from another neighborhood to try. Had the margherita za which was tasty. A bit oily. Service was friendly. This is table not counter service. Mostly families and what appeared to be tourists dining.

We visited John's based on a recommendation and I'm so glad we did. We had the sliced meatball pizza which was delicious! If you are looking for some great NY style pizza and want to have it in a cool, authentic atmosphere, John's is the place for you.

Great NYC pizza at a reasonable price!!! This pizza is so good!!! You will be so glad you made this one of your NYC pizza stops! Nice little restaurant. It has seating and a nice wait staff. Remember to bring CASH (I believe it is a cash only facility).

This was our second visit here since we loved it the first time. The pizza was still good, but our server was not. He got the food to us fast and efficiently, but you could tell he was not happy about being there. Usually I don't care if the service is friendly or not as long as the food is... More

Recently I went against my own rule and tried this place again and the pizza is OK at best but I suppose it's personal choice ... However Around the corner at Bleeker street pizza they serve a slice titled the Nona Maria and it is indeed heavenly . You must try

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
