The line may be long but it's well worth the wait. The staff is eager to please and turn tables. Don't be rushed and take your time. Very good experience.

Posh? no Touristy? no On the beaten path? no Awesome pizza? hell yeah. Loved this place, loved it! This place has loads of atmosphere, graffiti cover walls, massive and delicious pizza, great staff....would eat here every day if I didn't live 1000s of miles away. Original coal fired ovens make the pizza so freekin' good - accept no substitutes.

We walked for hours to find this place and it was well worth the effort, these pizzas are simply sublime. We had to queue to get in (first time I've ever had to queue into a restaurant) so it wasn't just us who fancied a piece of John's. The atmosphere, I thought, was brilliant and the decor urbany quirky which... More

Recommended as a complementary place to go if you're in the neighbourhood and possibly visiting one of the surrounding bars. The place doesn't look like much from the outside and the interior is clearly well frequented and worn which adds to the atmosphere. It's a great place to go for a quick drink and a pizza from a coal fired... More

I went here on the insistence of one of my colleagues, and I was blown away by the size and taste of their Pizza. Amazing fresh ingredients, and bags of character, it looks like a dive, but the food is heaven.

Johns has been one of NYC's best pizza places for a long time. It's still killer brick oven pizza. Lines can be long but it's worth the wait.

We walked 40 blocks from midtown to here because we wanted to eat great pizza. Jon Stewart recommends this place...and damn he's right! This is the place to go to for Pizza. Tied with Grimaldis for the best pizza in NYC. The service was fine, never great, nor does the place look amazing.... BUT....it's all about the quality of the... More

Went here a few days ago after having it recommended to us. We'd been to Lombardis a few days previously and had an amazing pizza so our expectations were high. Unfortunately the pizza fell short of the quality of Lombardis. It just wasn't as tasty, possibly a tiny bit overcooked. We also found service to be more haphazard at johns.... More

Hands down the best pizza I have ever had! There was NOTHING I could find wrong with the pizza. Not too greasy, perfect crust, lots of pepperonis, absolutely amazing. I would eat this every day if I had the chance!!!!! You MUST go here! I know there is another John's in the City, but make the short trek to Bleeker... More
