Wonderful pizza !

This is an absolute must for anyone wanting to try an authentic NY Italian pizza ! Ok the surroundings are a bit dated but some would say really authentic. The service is good and the food cooked in front of you. You will probably have to wait but it is worth it ! We had the Pepperoni... read more

We came here on a food tour and throughly enjoyed it. The pizza was light, the tomato sauce was full of flavour and the ingredient were really fresh. Worth a visit!

Went for pizza, but realised that they had a full Italian menu, so we gave it a try. The eggplant parmesan was the real thing--sliced long ways, breaded and fried with a choice of marinara sauce or Bolognese. The veggie choice was broccoli or sauteed spinach, which was fresh--not canned. A warning about the desserts--the chocolate souffle was heated in... More

Recommended by a friend from NY, it's a little hole in the wall place but that's what we wanted. Amazing pizza, great crust and loved the atmosphere. It was one of our BEST meals all week and one of the cheapest. Win, win! We would go again anytime!

Visited in December 2014 with friends who insisted we try John's. There was a bit of a wait on a Saturday lunchtime before Christmas, but given the experience, I'd wait hours if I had to. Service was quick and friendly. Our pizza arrived quickly after ordering. My fiance and I decided to split our toppings - pepperoni on one half... More

Rated top ten in NYC. Service is quick boards ring on rushed to fill each seat two, three or four times in a night. By 8pm line outside 10 plus deep. Pizza ordered by size then toppings. Etchings all over chairs and walls - added to this! Atmosphere very good. But pizza better back home in Sydney!

We were lucky and only had to wait about 5 minutes before being seated. The restaurant has a casual feeling to it. The pizza was great - one of the best I've had and my partner thought it was the best ever. The service was very good with a friendly waiter who actually cautioned us against ordering too much as... We read in our hotel concierge guide book that this was the best pizza in the world so we had to try it. It was a bit farther walk from the corner of Bleeker & Broadway than we thought but worth it. Delicious pizza and cooked fast. Thin crust with lots of fresh toppings. Quaint, rustic sitting. Beware, they only... More

The best pizza in Manhattan and the most-down home staff (free t-shirts once they like ya :)! As a kid I was weaned on those big fat cheesy strip-mall slices that are sold individually across the rest of America, with red sauce like wallpaper paste and that collapse when you try to hold them up. What did I know?... When... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
