I first was made aware of Faicco's during a food-walking tour around the West Village. We were given a sample of their famous rice balls, which are a true bargain at $1.00 each. They do not disappoint; but I then found that the prosciutto balls are even better (and don't forget the potato croquettes). Faicco's also makes outstanding sandwiches, especially... More

For any local, this old-world New York butcher and deli is worth its weight in gold: great food, somehow still reasonably priced, and not heading for yogurt shop land or juice bardom anytime soon. For tourists or other visitors, a very nice place to stop in for a bite while roaming the West Village or to pickup dinner to cook... More

Fantastic bread, meats, cheeses, peppers and sun dried tomatoes. The taste supported the incredible fresh deli's aromas. The place is abuzz with touristy and neighborhood traffic. The guys behind the counter were friendly and helpful.

A remaining piece of old, Italian NY in all it's glory! The original Faicco's on Bleecker is much smaller than their Brooklyn store, but it's packed with all the authentic stuff. Pasta, oils, salumi, cheeses, prepared foods, it's all here. The creamiest burrata, parma cut paper thin, eggplant rollatini, hot peppers stuffed with breading and either anchovies or sun-dried tomatoes,... More

As you walk in, the smell will make you want to taste everything in the deli. They have the BEST Italian combo hero I've ever tasted. Other favorites of mine are the chicken parmesan and meatball parmesan hero's. They have everything an Italian deli would have and more. Highly recommend the rice balls. I come here at least three times... More

If you're into pork sausage -- or exquisite Italian deli meats -- I can think of no finer choice than Faicco's. The quality is superb and the taste is like Grandma made on Sundays! I highly recommend the Italian Sweet (with Fennel!), the Hot, and the Parsley and Cheese sausage (great for grilling!).

There are so many reasons to come to this store, my favorite reason ( although I never get away with just one :- ) Is the butcher.. I love pork, and enjoy different cuts and portions, and the butcher here is very experienced.. I have always come away with my preference for that day, and there isn't anything they can't... More

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
