Well worth the trip!

Not being too familiar with the area, it was a little difficult to find, but it ended up being well worth it. As stated in many of the other posts, this is not a sit-down deli; the food is for take-out only (fortunately there are plenty of public places nearby where you can sit and eat). Staff... read more

Wow! This was the best places to that we went to in New York City! The sandwiches were so fresh and the mozzarella was amazing! This was my restaurant of choice and everyone was thanking me! if you have a small appetite I would suggest that you share a sandwich with someone as they are huge! I think that I... More

We were taken to this establishment as part of a food walking tour through Greenwich. Besides their vast selection, they have AMAZING Arancini (Rice balls). Creamy flavored Risotto stuffed with cheese and rolled into a breading and then fried. They are a cheap/filling snack and are delicious! If in the area, I would definitely recommend stopping in and checking out... More

Don't worry about Katz deli, this was the best pastrami roll we had in New York great value and full of flavour. Also bought a container of the spicy dried Salami. Read about this on trip advisor an was worth the walk!!

yes the sandwiches are good. But getting there and believe you are in the best restaurant is misleading. Trip Advisor needs to make a difference between real restaurants and fast food.

One of the best sandwiches I´ve ever had. It´s a little food store, but they make sandwiches aswell. You´ll be able to make your sandwich as you wish. It´s big (enough for two person) and very cheap (10-12 bucks). Then you can go to Washington square park to eat it, chilling and listening to one of the many street musician.... More

The Italian special sandwich is $14 and seems to weigh two pounds! We had it with the peppers as opposed to the sun dried tomatoes. If you go in the summer there is a great little park down the street that has benches where you can eat. Outstanding sandwich!

We were staying on the upper east side but with the weather being so great thought it would be a good walk, taking the time to shop and work up an appetite. We were so glad we did not get distracted or change our mind half way through the walk. The sandwiches here are fantastic. Great choice of fillings and... More

Despite my name, I am ashamed to admit: this was my first rice ball ever. I didn't know what to expect. I found the rice ball to be surprisingly exciting, full of favour and a terrific texture. I think I may get addicted. I am sure that there are many other worthwhile items on the Manu: We will get back.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
