Amazing breakfast buffet

The options available within the breakfast schedule are more than enough, you get everything you'd want, but still feels different. Service is great, couldn't expect less from the Waldorf.

Finally got seated 20 minutes after our reservation start time, not too friendly welcome either! My rating reflected the ambience, lots of wood, leather and glass all very New York and the steak (also a long wait after order) which was very good, 14 oz NY strip...personal service was attentive with fairly friendly waiting staff and some excellent wines. Only... More

It is a remarkable steakhouse. Appetizers and salads coukd taste better but the steaks were just marvelous . Staff are friendly and customer services oriented. At the expensive scale but worth it.

My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner prior to seeing a performance of Steve Cohen's magic (in a suite in the Waldorf - separately reviewed). The ambience is excellent. Unlike so many restaurants these days, you could easily carry on a conversation across the table -- and not hear the conversations of others even at nearby tables. The... More

We met friends we had not seen for 10 years so our meeting in a typical NY establishment was more important than anything else. The scenery, music and drinks were all typically NYC, so that was nice. We were only in the bar area and not the 'dining room' (that is separated by a glass wall) and only had 'light'... More

Excellent food. Well prepared steak and lobster. Heavenly red velvet cake. Amazing staff. They even boxed up fries for us to take back to the kids.

This landmark steakhouse is still as good as it was 10 years ago. Appetizers, entree and dessert were all perfect and bar service great too.

Located in the Waldorf Astoria there is some real history here but unfortunately this restaurant is poor by comparison with the rest of the Astoria's offering. Steak tough, staff eating food at the back and not really listening to customers orders and not sticking to the dress code - shorts allowed in

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
