We were turned on to Afghani food by The Afghan Kabob Palace in Charlottesville, VA (my favorite restaurant, I wish they were on Tripadvisor), so we decided to try Ariana Afghan Kabab on our next trip to NYC. It turns out that the restaurants are related and we could not have been more pleased. The food was delicious, the décor... More

A group of 6 of us visited this restaurant on the advice of Corey from Food on Foot Tours. We went here before going to see a broadway play. Not know much about the place, we made a reservation for 6. We made it for 5pm to allow for lots of time to get to our 7pm show. We arrived... More

This was recommended to us in the food of foot tour. Very cozy and intimate restaurant. Owner was friendly and personable - and the food was excellent. The Lamb Kebab I had was very nicely presented and complemented - and the taste was wonderful. Capped with his suggested beer and a Turkish coffee it was a wonderful meal.

Had the sultan kabob. Highly recommend it. The yogurt drink is great too. Nan was mediocre. Service was quick.

Delicious! If you're a pumpkin fan (and who isn't?) you must try the kadoo bolanee, you will not regret it! I ordered my go-to Afghani dish, lamb kabuli pulao, tender lamb and perfect rice. Owner Rafi was friendly and service was prompt. Highly recommended.

Great food, reasonable prices, friendly service. This is a tiny restaurant on 9th Ave. They offer various lamb and chicken kabobs as well as a half dozen vegetarian / vegetable dishes. Service was friendly.

My grandson ordered lamb kabobs, I had salmon kabobs and my wife had a pumpkin dish. We topped these with the traditional Firni dessert slathered with finely chopped pistachios. Those were a huge "Wow". My grandson is usually only so-so about food - this restaurant lunch rated his magic "awesome". We like to visit this midtown restaurant when we visit... More

It was my first time trying Afghan food. I can't comment on how authentic it is but everything I ordered tasted good. Except for the tandoori chicken. It was slightly dry and overcooked. I had Kaboli Polow and was amazing. It came with a side of salad. I also ordered Dough as a drink which is a yogurt based drink... More

Recently tried Ariana for lunch with relatives visiting from overseas. Hadn’t tried Afghan cuisine before so it seemed like an adventure. The restaurant is small but pleasantly decorated and clean. The host was attentive, chatty and evidently took great pride in his Afghan culture and cuisine. I found prices reasonable and lunch specials offer a good value. The food isn’t... More

My brother in law was in NYC on business so my wife and I met up with him. None of us had afghan food in a while, so we looked up what restaurants were nearby. We found Ariana and it looked pleasing. Our server was very friendly and conversational. The food was outstanding. Really good dishes. I especially liked the... More
