Oysters Rockefeller were bland, some of them even had halve an oyster on the shell. we have eaten many Rockefellers, but this one was the least appetizing. Next course: bouillabaisse, all the different fish was all tasting the same. like this was sitting in a tomato broth for several days! The toasted baquette what came with it, could have killed... Possibly the best meal ever. Four of us had oysters to start, halibut, lobster roll, crab Caesar salad and seafood stew. All was excellent. Chocolate mousse and NY cheesecake made a wonderful finish. Kudos to Polo for superior serviw.

We came back to the Oyster bar after having a beautiful meal two years ago on our last holiday to NYC. The food was OK this time but not as we remembered. The service was OK during the meal, although we did feel that they couldn't serve us fast enough to free up the table. We paid our bill which... More

Really great seafood in NYC, oysters and lobster as good as it gets in NYC. Very crowded at times due to its location but you can enjoy that. A lot of locals, so not just a classical ''tourist'' restaurant

Best place ever for little necks. The whole experience is a NY one. We prefer the pub/bar area as it is more intimate and less noisy. One of my favorites is the smoked trout appetizer which is the best. Any fish you order will be fresh. Another of our favorites is the pan stew, each one made individually. Can't go... More

The first time I ever tasted "She-Crab Soup" was in a seafood restaurant in Charleston SC and it blew me away. Huge chucks of real crab. That's exactly what you can get on Tuesdays and Thursdays at The Oyster bar in Grand Central. I've usually finished one, savoring every spoonful and then ordering another one to go. It's the best... No trip to NYC is complete without visiting the Grand Central Station Oyster Bar ... if you like seafood that is. The first thing you notice is the incredible architecture which is reflective of the design of the main concourse and for this reason is like no other restaurant that you will have ever been to. The second thing you... More

Have returned from the Big Apple having enjoyed oysters in 3 different venues. Tracks -in the bowels of Penn Station- the Mermaid Inn on Amsterdam and the Grand Central Oyster Bar. The recently renovated Oyster Bar is still tops, despite the various qualities of the competitors. Sittinc at the busy counter, served by a rather unfocused, all-over-the-place mouthy but fun... Every time we are in NYC we try to make it to the Oyster Bar. The ambiance, food and service is first class. With so many oysters to choose from, we ask the server for recommendations based on our tastes and have never been disappointed.
