This used to be reliable spot to grab a meal. However, the last few times we visited, the quality has decreased along with portion sizes. It is a shame as they used to be a regular destination but now the spotty service and food makes this a pass for now. We would be willing to try again as the food... More

My colleague and I decided that we were tired after a long and busy day, and thought we would not go too far from our hotel for dinner. We have several restaurants in the area that we like and have frequented before, but took a look at Café Con Leche’s menu and decided to try it. What a find! The... More

We came across the Cafe Con Leche on our first day in New York and had a great Sunday Brunch. The food set the benchmark for the rest of our trip and stayed as the front runner for flavor and character. We returned on our last day in New York and had another really tasty meal. They make an orange coloured... More

Dropped in to this little local place because of long lines at our original brunch destination. Upon being seated, we were asked if we wanted coffee. We did. Though it was good coffee, it arrived after too long a wait. Our meal, too, arrived after a long wait and my eggs were no longer hot. My companion's side dish arrived... More

To be honest I didn't eat here, however, take out was brought to me by my wife and it was horrible. Never had an oxtail with more marbled fat on it than the butcher's floor. The entire meal save for the decent arroz amarillo con habuchuelas smelled a bit rancid and the overpowering use of garlic to mask bad cooking... More

This place used to be good, now the services is terrible, delivery is slow and the food arrives cold! Portion size was cut in half at some point in the last year...i think the missing portion also had the taste.

Charming, casual place with friendly staff and tasty food. Choices include "criolla" specialties like mofongos and pastelon, along with meat and fish dishes with a wide variety of sauces. Wash them down with a Presidente or cocktail or fruit shake to complete a brief escape from winter in NYC! Order the plantains as a side dish; the rice and beans... More

Not sure how accurate it is to say it's a secret because it is the name of the restaurant, but the cafe con leche (coffee with milk) is what makes this place stand out. I've been for dinner and lunch, too; excellent. Especially the free shot with a cocktail order. The happy hour specials are great, too. Go.

We were out looking for a place to eat around 9:30 at night and our daughter suggested this Dominican family restaurant. Not many customers at this time on a Wednesday night, but we went in anyway and were pleasantly surprised. The seven of us ordered items from across the menu and found all to be satisfying -- bistec empanizado, arroz... More
