Forget the big seafood restaurants, you'll get amazing, fresh and well-prepared seafood selections at Mary's Fish Camp. After my first visit, I realized the Camp was for the campie decor! Mary's Fish Camp s an old favourite that has been a bit of a regular on trips to New York despite the no bookings policy. We went back this month for the first time in a few years and it stands the test of time. Fresh fish innovatively cooked with a range of influences from the American South through tonPeru... More

I liked the food, grilled arctic char. Had to sit in the bar since it was crowdy. Wanted one glass of wine to my dinner. God water glass with chardonnay. Then the price should not be 16 dollar. Good music.

Had dinner with my family at this restaurant recently. We loved the atmosphere though the music was a little loud. They obliged when we requested that they turn down the volumn. I had a bouillabaisse which was delicious but smaller than you'd expect a bouillabaisse . The broth was light so if you're not a huge garlic fan, you'd like... More

Walking around the West Village looking a place for lunch. After bouncing around reading menus. We found a different type of Restaurant. Mary's was a great find . We split Oyster Po Boy and an order of Maui Maui Tacos. Both were great. Generous side of flavorful Slaw and Baked Beans. Lots of craft beers to choose from.. Enjoy

Small, informal restaurant in the West-Village. Always fully packed, no matter whether for lunch or dinner. And still, they manage to give you a table in a reasonable time. And it's worth waiting because the menu is great. An excellent selection of oysters, and all kinds of seafood and fish. But for me, there is one signature dish that makes... More

I went to the restaurant last time I visited NY. I had to go back this time too. I've tried lobster rolls at several different places in NY but this one is the best. They don't take reservation so I recommend going there right before they open for lunch.

The food is excellent, wonderful sea bass, great soups. The atmosphere is another story completely. It is VERY small, VERY crowded, and VERY VERY noisy. I would not encourage anyone to seek it out unless they were in the neighborhood, had ear plugs, and wanted no privacy while eating. The place is simply too small.

Small place and normally very very busy. Sat outside and had a deer while we awaited.not a problem! Snacking at the bar or sitting at one of the closely huddled tables the atmosphere is great, loud, very new York in my opinion. Food is very tasty and very well priced and the service is quick and friendly Worth a visit

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
