Description: JoJo offers relaxed yet elegant dining on two floors of a quaint, turn-of-the-century brownstone on the Upper East Side. The first of Jean-Georges’ restaurants in New York City, this neighborhood gem opened in 1991 to rave reviews. It was voted best new restaurant of the year by Esquire magazine and has retained its three-star status from the New York Times for 21 years. Regarding the name, JoJo was Chef Jean-Georges’ nickname as a young boy. Jojo is a hospitable setting for a casual dinner, special occasion, or private party. Guests can feel comfortable in jeans or in evening attire. The contemporary French menu still features some well-loved original dishes, including the Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake.

Whilst enjoying a 3 day break in NYC I had the pleasure of having dinner at JoJo's! What a delightful restaurant!! Even though I was a visitor to New York I felt as though I were a local eating at my local restaurant! The service was warm, attentive and professional, the food delicious and the wine list offered some fabulous... More

We've been clients since it opened and still enjoy dinner. I prefer to start with soup......pumpkin or sweet pea or whatever is the soup of the day. Then roast chicken. Dale often has the risotto. Last night she had a lobster dish. Terrific place. The only knock is that it's small and, therefore, the tables can be cramped. We prefer... More

JoJo didn't impress. The place was typical of what I dislike about established New York restaurants. We were seated downstairs at a tiny round table for four, cramped up against other diners and with an army of waiters rushing hither and thither right by us but, try as we might, we couldn't get a drink or place our food order... Jojo is located in a nice part of 64th St. The service is Ok, I enjoyed very much the food (lamb), the decoration may need some renovation. But after all it was a nice evening.

We were here for a casual price fix lunch on the weekend. Pretty much what you'll get at nougatine just without the hassle! The food was good and service was good also (the place is quiet and cute) The weekend price fix is really an awesome value for money!

We ate here on a Saturday evening before seeing "Macbeth." We were celebrating an anniversary. We found the food outstanding. The menu was creative without becoming silly (something that happens too often lately). The ingredients were amazingly fresh. Service was ideal. We felt neither neglected nor rushed. We were seated int he rear room upstairs, and I did find it... More

It's times like these I wish there were a half-star option, because while Jo Jo's is definitely above average, it fell short of "very good" for me. Still, I gave it four circles because three doesn't seem fair. Now that I've riveted you with the inner workings of my brain when it comes to scoring restaurants, on to the place... More

I was invited to meet a friend for a late lunch at JoJo. I didn't realize that she intended to grab the check. The restaurant is a few steps from the corner of Lexington Ave. and 64th St. It's in a restored townhouse, with dining on two levels. We were seated upstairs. I ordered the fresh English pea soup and... More

It's been awhile since we've eaten at this comfortable town house restaurant with seating on two floors, but the food was as good as we remembered. We sat upstairs for dinner towards the front, where you can still see some light coming through the big windows - the ambiance may be different if one sits further back in the restaurant.... More
