Cowgirls won't get the blues at this location

Such a fun place to dine in the village! Funky food the largest iced coffee we ever had and delicious breakfasts! If you're downtown and you're looking for some country in the city I would highly recommend this place.

Cowgirls is a decent spot to come AFTER you've been drinking. Not a huge fan of their drinks or food given I'm sort of a conscious eater so "Chicken Fried Steak" or "Black Eyed Peas Salsa Dip" doesn't appeal to me. However, "All Chopped Up" is my absolute FAVORITE dish! It has: romain lettuce, grilled chicken, bacon, sliced green apples,... More

Sat on the patio for drinks and ended up eating an early dinner. Food was very good, South West/Mexican. Sangria and Margaritas were great. Happy hour 50% deal on a hot day made it easy to stay a long time. Really calm and comfortable, easy to forget you are in NYC.Friendly staff.

Stopped off for a frozen afternoon happy hour cocktail. Delicious, strong and just what was needed on a very hot afternoon. Very nice accommodating staff, great spot to people watch in the Village.

Tried this place as a result of a positive guide book review - and glad we did! We enjoyed the walk from the subway to the restaurant (getting lost along the way which was fine too!) through a colourful and fun neighbourhood. I really enjoyed the food - and my family did too. Good kids options (they had burgers, chicken... More

My family and I stopped at the Cowgirl restaurant while visiting the West Village. It has a nice ambience about it, very eclectic. We ordered barbecue and I was a little disappointed with the quality of the food. I expected better for the prices they're charging. We also had some trouble getting our order correct with our server. I assume... More

We wandered by here and they happened to have a great table on the patio. Which was nice because the inside seems a bit tired. I'm ok with Americana kitsch but it feels like it's overstayed its welcome. The beer and lime soda were great. The guacamole seemed oily and gelatinous. The chips were too plain tasting. The dandelion salad... More

Thirteen of us wanted to escape from busy Midtown, and took out to Hudson street where this gem resturant is located. The athmosphere is fantastic and packed with typical american icons like a pin ball machine from the 60ies, big-horns, lollipops and dressed up dolls in the windows taking us back to the 50ies and 60ies. Delicious frozen margueritas got... More

Cowgirl is a fantastic restaurant with great service and food. There staff is super quick and attentive. The food comes out super quick and is always tasty and full of flavor. Cowgirl has a kids menu which is great. It's packed with grilled cheeses and corndogs. My kids go crazy over them. It is a total family restaurant. Come to... More

The chicken fried chicken and the burrito we had were very good, as were the accompanying veggies. The location in the Village and the atmosphere are a plus.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
