Only had burgers (very good) and a couple drafts but was memorable. The waitress was attentive. You do feel like you are stepping back in time. It is crowded so be ready to wait and be bumped but I think this is probably part of the charm. Little expensive for burgers but it is NYC so expected.

Walked back into this place 5 years after the last visit and the barman (Jerry) remembered us. Best barman we've ever come across! Even remembered the whiskey we drank. We had some burgers at the bar and they were awesome too. We loved the cool layer back, friendly local vibe this joint has. Every time we come here we meet... More

I was here with my family, right before we walked across the street to see a show at the Lincoln Center. It was not crowded at 11:30 on a Saturday, but it still took an hour and fifteen minutes to get in and out... without a wait to be seated. Apparently the oven cooked eggs (in a cast iron thing)... Hamburger and beer a NYC tradition. My family, friends, and business associates have eaten here for decades and it has always been the same, great. If you do not want to stand at the tiny burger counter or eat at the bar, dine in the dining room and enjoy burgers and other great foods. Sit with typical NYers year round

I stopped by when I was on my own in the city for dinner. Ended up with the pot roast. I have to love any restaurant who puts parsnips in pot roast. It was yummy. Friendly service and good food, just what I needed. I'd go back with friends for a beer and traditional food.

Had a few drinks here in December 2014. I can be busy and getting a seat at the bar can take some time, but once plotted up at the bar you can sink into a vast array of drinks. As the bar has irish heritage a Jameson was in order, whilst there are many draughts available. Alphabet City was a... More

I made a reservation for NYE in mid November and we planned our trip. On the 1st December I received an e-mail from Opentable, advising that our reservation had been cancelled. I rang PJ Clarke's to speak with them and they advised that they had cancelled my reservation because they now have a "better offer" of a private party, so... More

Very busy bar restaurant which manages to fit both into quite a small space. Food is typical steak, burger style with great Shepherds Pie and other pub type classics. Staff work very hard and maintain a good atmosphere . Would not say the food is great but pretty good. Not sure if I would to go back again but with... More

We cannot write enough positive things about P.J. Clarke's. The atmosphere, the food, the experience and most importantly the staff are all amazing. They continually exceed our expectations and we recommend this restaurant to everyone. On Halloween weekend 13 of us celebrated my husband's 40th birthday and they made our evening both special and memorable. Special shout out to Lindsay... More
