Simply The Best.

How many world famous chef's offer world friendly prices? I can't get over how lucky I feel every time I dine at Barbuto. The food is simple, rustic and cooked to perfection. It's minimalist, flavor focused cooking at it's best. One of my favorite elements is the constantly changing menu which... read more

The place is so cool, a bar-garage with acrylic rolling doors, we were there in the winter so the doors were closed but it looked great anyways. The food was by far the best Italian food we have eaten in years, and I have to say my husband is the typical Italian foodie and by that I mean that he... More

I found out about Barbuto through Instagram and started reading up on Chef Waxman. I love any and all pasta so needless to say, I was dying to try Barbuto. I went on my own after having several friends bail on the reservation. The staff sat my in front of the kitchen, which was fun to watch. I tried the... More

A foodie friend in Chicago highly recommended Barbuto. My friend and I ordered warm olives to start. Cooked "greens" and the signature chicken. We shared everything. She had white wine; I had sangria. Everything was delicious. We had an early reservation - 11:30-ish and it didn't get crowded until 1:00-ish. We had no issues with the service. Good, friendly and... We had an excellent dinner at this trendy Meatpacking place. Radically enjoyed the dynamite chicken with spiced just right skin. The sides included Kale crispy potatoes cheese course and a bean type salad served family style. Good German Pinot and well priced. Bit loud and uncomfortable but it was Saturday nite. Chocolate pudding outstanding as was the espresso. Neighborhood place.... More

I definitely enjoyed the signature chicken (be forewarned - it is half a chicken!), but dessert was a disappointment. The service was also not as good as it should have been. With so many other restaurants to try in NYC when I visit I don't know if I would go again.

The food is incredibly good, but the service trulymiserable. Why in the world do you keep tables empty? Get the chicken and the gnocchi, amazing and fight back with the rude service.

We went for lunch just to try their famous chicken. We were not disappointed. Restaurant is an old garage and I am sure in the summer with the doors open it is a happening spot. Very good staff and a casual atmosphere. We really liked it.

This restaurant is a happening place. The resto is a rehabed garage and has plenty of funky ambience. The crowd is young and hip. I ordered the signature dish, roasted chicken with salsa verde. I had read some reviews where people complained that the salsa was not authentic - give the chef a break. The sauce was delicious and a... More

I had seen a review of this restaurant on a NYC talk show in 2014 and placed a note in my phone so that my next trip to NYC I would try it out. It's in the Meat Packing District in a typical NYC neighborhood. The food was fantastic as was the cocktail we had. I ordered a pasta dish... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
