Great place to eat in the summer

In the summer time they open up the walls of the restaurant that is build into a garage-like hall. Great place for people watching and a great Italian meal! Be prepared to wait a bit. The chicken with kale salad is to die for!

The food at Barbuto is delicious. I personally always go for the kale salad and the seasonal gnocchi or chicken. The drinks are priced a bit too high but other than that it is a great spot.

Relaxed chic cafe with a nice vibe. Friendly efficient staff and tasty food. Had the bruschetta and margharita pizza and both were delicious.

This was my second visit to this restaurant, the first being a memorable experience. The food this visit was just as good, worth the long wait for a reservation. I suggest their signature chicken dish, which can be shared. This gives you the option to enjoy another fantastic dish. The only downside was a less than enthusiastic server. The bar... More

After strolling down the High Line on a hot summer day, sitting in the shade at Barbuto was a great choice for lunch. This cool little restaurant with a very raw interior served great italian food, while sipping on a glass of chilled rose. Can definitely recommend it for lunch, in between shopping and sightseeing.

My team and I were in New York for a week long work trip. We made a point to make several reservations at places we were dying to try. At the top of our list was Barbuto and man did it not disappoint. It is on my list of top 10 meals ever! We loved everything we tried and pretty... More

I had a great dinner a couple of years back at Barbuto, but lunch during my recent visit did not live up to my memories. The wine list by the glass was great, but my pizza uovo was just ok and my husband's carbonara was pure pepper flavor and came across as very heavy handed. The first time in forever... More

A really wonderful environment, with the restaurant open to the nice weather, tables not too close, pretty good service. Yes, a little pricey, but the food was good, not exceptional. The restaurant is very good example of the pasta penny pinchers. Im always amazed at some pricey Italian restaurants in the US, not much pasta. The entre pasta is closer... More

Loved the food, the wine, the friendly, helpful service, and the setting which was open to the outdoors on a lovely summer evening. Casual, hip but unpretentious, fresh and delicious!

We passed by on our way to the high line. It was quite busy but we got a table without waiting. The dishes where OK and tasted very well. The ambiance was quite noisy. The prices where a bit above avarage for what was served in my opinion.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
