I was more than a little disappointed that this was a fish and chip shop. My expectations were set at a very high by the Food Channel series "throw down with Bobby Flay". Apparently it was filmed next door at Teat and Sympathy. That said the Fish and Chips were excellent. The batter, though not a beer batter, was perfectly... More

I used to live in England and have very high expectations for fish & chips. A Salt and Battery have the BEST fish & chips I've tasted in the US! It was so good!!! I can't wait to visit NYC again so I can have them again.

We knew "Salt & Battery" from the show Throwdown with Bobby Flay. The fish are fresh and crispy, the portions generous although (like everything else in NYC) the prices are a bit ... salty! The choice a soft drinks is a very nice and original touch: large variety of brands and mix that are not sold in regular stores ("Dandellion... More

OK being perhaps the worlds biggest Bobby Flay fan, I was NOT going to pass up on trying out the place that knocked him for six in a fish and chip throwdown. Well wasn't this a sight!!! For the entire time we sat there eating, I felt I had somehow fallen into some wormhole and popped out the other side... More

We first visited A Salt and Battery after seeing it on "Throwdown with Bobby Flay" 5 or 6 years ago. It was delicious then and it was delicious when we visited last month. The food is a bit pricey but at least the food and service are great. When I couldn't finish my meal (fish and shrimp combo with chips)... More

We ordered the 8oz portion of halibut and an order of fries both times we visited. The portion is big enough to feed two! Best fish and chips I've had in a very long time!

My husband is from England. this is the only place we have found so far that serves traditional English Fish and Chips. I wish they had more seating, but the food makes up for that!

Saw it on TV and decided to give it a try. Average at best, overpriced for average! Do NOT go as a place for a sit down dinner! This place is no bigger than a walk in closet! Go to Long John Silvers! Half the price and much more flavor and seating!!!

I've seen this restaurant on tv and wanted to try. I love fish and chips and wanted to also try the deep fried mars bar. The fish wasn't seasoned and the batter kept falling of the fish, kind of disappointed. The mushy peas, onion rings were good. The Mars Bar deep fried was Awesome. Overall the place was a fun... Whenever I come back from London, I always miss eating fish & chips, a British classic. This is the only place that I know of that makes good fish and chips in NYC. Although it seems a bit expensive at first, the portion is huge. I can never finish it. For fish and chips, the price would be about $11-12.... More
