Place is quaint; very popular, and quite crowded. Scones are excellent, tea sandwiches are just fair.

What a great place...neighborhood restaurant with an extensive tea list (naturally!) interesting menu for breakfast and very friendly, pleasant service. I tried the Mt. Everest Tea-- marvelous flavor -- and the un-hash (I think) breakfast..poached eggs, chicken bangers and potatoes. It's a very cozy place, totally unpretentious and absolutely comfortable...we were served promptly, after pondering the tea and entree menus... More

We visit every time we're in NYC. Since we're not coffee drinkers we love places like this. So many nice tea options. What do we end up ordering? English Breakfast. Each and every time. Lots of great items on the menu, but the scones are what we stick to. Berries and buttermilk. Yum!

Quaint little tearoom offering a large selection of fine tea's with a daily choice of freshly baked scones. Place is a little of a novelty geared more towards tourists or kids tea parties. Still worth a visit at least once, although be prepared to wait for a table. No reservations taken for same day, so perhaps good to plan ahead... More

We visited Alice's tea cup Christmas week of 2014. It was truly a charming little place. There was an upstairs and downstairs. We brought our 5 year old son and 2 1/2 year old daughter. My son enjoyed his hot cocoa. I tasted his and enjoyed it. I ordered the pumpkin pancakes and thoroughly enjoyed them. My husband ordered the... More

We went to Alice's Tea cup hoping for a nice lunch. My daughter likes to eat early at 11am- which we thought would be good and none busy. The staff watched us struggle to get our stroller down the stairs. They didn't even get the door. We went in and asked for a table and they stated that they only... More

Best scones I have ever had! Extensive list of teas. Smallish and can be crowded so, go early, for quiet tea and scone. However, this place is great, if you have kids. Nice lunch choices, too.

In every city I visit, I try to have afternoon tea and scones in at least one place. Although most of them are typically busy, they still remain quaint and charming and a bit on the quieter side. The scones, tea, and service here are excellent--there are multiple options of both tea and scones and they are served with the... More

My first visit a year and a half ago at Alice's Tea Cup on 102 West 73rd St. was a very pleasant experience. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for my second visit at Alice's Tea on 156 East 64th St in November. I had asked previously in an email if they had scones without egg and and they had... More
