Upper East side gem :)

Every time I come to the US I make a point of coming here for breakfast. Funky decor inside, good food and great service - what more could you want :) Be sure to try the hass browns, and don't be scared to have a bellini with your breakfast...it's 5 o'clock somewhere in the world...

This has been a regular spot for a "quiet" breakfast. Annoyed again, however, because they play loud music ... it's more like a disco. It is an otherwise fine establishment. Just hope management learns that they may be driving away regular customers who would like to have a quiet conversation in the morning but are constantly competing with noisy music.... More

Found this on recommendation from the apartments we stayed in (Marmarra) - what a little gem! Fabulous food, great attentive staff, and the best granola ever!! Had to go back for more, and wished I had brought some back to the UK - really friendly greeting at the doorway from a lovely lady, staff were so good too. Would recommend... More

Great place for any time of day. We had a quick lunch but there were bigger groups gathered for what appeared to be brunch. Service was quick and friendly. Food was simple and very good. Read about this restaurant on "Tracy's New York Life" blog and it's one of her favorites and now one of ours!

I, like many others, was drawn in to this place by the outdoor seating. It's quite hard to pick fault but there's nothing here that you'd class as outstanding. The staff are relaxed, friendly, courteous and efficient. The food was decent...but that's as far as I'd go. I had a meatloaf which was quite tasty but nothing special. It's a... More

We were staying in the area and dropped in for brunch. The pancakes, French toast and cooked breakfast were all great - very generous servings and good value. The service was friendly and attentive. The interior is a bit tired-looking, but don't let that put you off.

A fun restaurant with a little bit of history and lovely décor. Only had breakfast/brunch here but I love it. The American menu is fantastic my favourite is their loaded panacakes and full breakfast. Very friendly towards dog owners and they provide dog bowls outside. Nice patio area to see the city go by and average service.

We visited the Barking Dog for lunch today and sat outside on the deck under the awning. The host was very friendly and gave us menus. Then, we waited 20 minutes for a server before asking a passing busboy if he would send the waiter over. A waitress appeared and apologized for the wait. She took our drink order and... More

Cute patio, cozy indoor dining space. American menu, good brunches with eggs benny and the like, nice daily specials and salads. Nothing earth-shaking, but a pleasant spot for a solid lunch with out any disappointments. I had a great lola rosa lettuce and shrimp salad, my companions had eggs benny. Lots of dogs out on the patio--we didn't have our... More

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
