My wife and decided to dine at the barking dog tonight. Loved the staff t shirts 'sit stay ' I found the tableservice very good. My wife ordered the fish dish and I went for the duck. The meal was served promptly and both dishes looked delicious, my wife was very satisfied with her meal, how ever I found the... More

Just had an excellent evening meal here with the family. Great choice of food, plenty of variety, cooked fresh, so very hot when it arrived to the table. Daughter said it was the best ribs she'd ever had!! Will be going back for breakfast very soon

Visited with our friends from Texas on several occasions over a five day period. The atmosphere was cosy, but a little dimly lit for our liking although adequate. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient, the food was good and the portions were more than sufficient. Waiting in our nearby hotel lobby for transportation to JFK after having a superb brunch... Ok, been hearing about this place for awhile, so with friends from out of town who live on the east side on a beautiful Sunday early afternoon, we ventured over to the Barking Dog for brunch. With weather being awesome we elected to eat outside. It's a dog friendly restaurant so you should probably like dogs if eating outside. I... More

We had lunch at the Barking Dog yesterday before leaving the city. It was the perfect place to unwind and the martini I had was delicious. Service was a bit slow but since we weren't in a hurry we didn't mind. Lots of people sat outside but since we didn't have our dog with us we chose the a/c inside.... More

Had dinner here on a Friday two weeks ago with two friends. The server had been on the job for a few days and wasn't terribly comfortable with all of the menu and drink options. He was helpful as possible and tried his best. The restaurant has a funky charm. We sat on the patio and it was pleasant. The... More

So, this is actually a very good place to eat, trouble is it depends entirely on who your waiter is as to what the experience is like. First time we went the waitress was excellent, our food was good and we had a great lunch. Second time, well the food was still good, getting a coffee top up was like... More

I'm a New York City tour guide always on the lookout for a new place to eat. Recently, while on a job on the Upper East Side a few tour guides stopped in at the Barking Dog Luncheonette. The restaurant is decorated with photos of adorable dogs and furnishings are as comfortable as the menu. My fellow diners informed me... More

We walked by the Barking Dog on our way to our hotel and noticed a $6.95 breakfast special. In New York City, that sign appeared to be a mirage. A couple of days later, we tried it. The food was tasty, I'm not sure how they season the homemade biscuit but it was delicious. Large quantities, and the meal included... More

After seeing the Barking Dog on a list of the best dog friendly restaurants, we decided to try the brunch with our four legged friend. After seeing how packed the outside part was, we knew it had to be good. We were also no where near the only people with a furry friend as the patio was crawling with fidos.... More
