Perfect choice! Waiter was wonderful and attentive! We were not rushed. Food is outstanding! Portions are perfect for 4 people. Only suggestion to the restaurant is they should have menus along with the menus on the wall, depending on where you are sitting it can be difficult to see. And also, bathrooms are at the top of 12 stairs which... More

Wasn't sure what or where I wanted to eat as I wandered around NY for my last afternoon and stumbled across this place. From the minute I poked my head in the door just to check it out to the minute I left this was old world charm, great service and smiles and amazing value for good fresh authentic Italian... More

Very crowded, and there is a wait even with reservations. The portions were the biggest I've ever seen-- defienitely meant for two people.

This is a well known restaurant so popular that sometimes reservations need to be made weeks in advance. It is known for its huge family style servings. Service was excellent. The food has become average and overpriced. $38.50 for Shrimp scampi with 13 shrimp - no sides included. $27.50 for a salad that was supposed to have grilled vegetables on... More

First things first. Make a reservation. just made a reservation for December on Monday. You will need it. The food here is delicious, as you know from the other reviews. The menu is on the wall, so bring your glasses if you can't see far. also bring those nice looking elastic waist pants you have; trust me, you will be... More

We booked this because it is across the road from the theatre where we were going to see the Lion King. We were 15 minutes late for our reservation but no problem, although the place was packed! Great Italian food, you order a platter to share (everything is to share). The service was good and the cost was great value.

After reading the reviews, I was really concerned about going to lunch with just my mother and I. I'll firstly say that the advantage of a large group is you can try multiple dishes, but the two of us handled a pasta dish and a chicken dish just fine (chicken finished, bagged the bit of pasta left). Obviously no room... More

Definitely a place for large groups as family-style is the way food is served. One entree could easily feed 3 people! Restaurant was very busy and very noisy, not a place to go for quiet conversations.

My wife and I were honeymooning in America driving down the I95 from NYC to Miami and our first night in NYC we decided to eat and drink at Carmines and we were more then happy with our experience. The food was awesome, we had meatballs and if you haven't been to carmines before beware (in a good way) the... More
