A large group of friends and I see a few Broadway shows each year and go to Carmine's - well, we used to. Things were always fine until the time we found chunks of glass in our tiramisu. We gave the restaurant another chance a few months later only to find a rubber glove in the bottom of our fried... more
this place is delcious. We come here everytime we go to New York because my dad loves the veal saltonboca. This time we ordered that with lasagna and chicken parm. Yummy yummy! The caesar salad is huge too but we still managed to finish it because its good! It takes reservations. We made reservations and had to change them a... more
As a lover of Italian food, I jumped at the chance to come here, we were already told in our hotel that the food here was lovely & that the portions were very big, but they really are HUGE, I mean between 6 of us we ordered a starter of garlic bread & chicken wings and left some then er... more
I came here with my partner from Philadelphia. We decided to get away and check out the big apple. We stayed at the Millenium Hotel, which is almost across the street from carmine's. Family portions of fair Italian Cuisine... each portion serves at least 3 if not 4 - so if there's just the 2 of you and you share a starter and an entree, you simply will not be able to eat what will be brought to you... but go anyway... the food is good, the place is good fun, and if... more
Good size portions of average to middling food. Service is good and the food is reasonable and edible but I could do better at home. ambience not so great - quite noisy and a table needs a while most times of the day. Try the Lasagne - its not bad. The wines are fairly balanced - something for everyone. more
This review is for the bar at Carmine's Midtown, a wonderful place for a drink before or after a Broadway show as this place is in the middle of the theater district. There is a bartender by the name of Anthony who raises mixing drinks to an art form, keeping up with many and multiple drink requests. Appetizers served at... more
Me and my girlfriend didn't learn until we got in there that it's a group based restaurant, so you share portions which was fine by us. We ordered the special on the day which was a spaghetti carbonara with cheese and bacon. They bought the drinks and a basket of different breads to our table very quickly and the waiter... more
I had never been at Carmine's until yesterday. We planned a 50th birthday party for a family member and my sister went on a recommendation from someone and we could not have been happier! There were about 20 of us, and the everything from planning until the dessert and coffee was served went as smooth as can be. We chose... more
