The place was overly packed. Good thing I booked it a month before our trip. There are 2 lines the short one is for those who were smart enough to book it a head of time. (To find that line; it is the second door which reads "Take Out") The service was top notch, the cost was shockingly low for... More

Was on family vacation with my brother and folks. We are Italian by kitchen and big eaters by stomach. Waiter comes along for order and suggests one dish for the four...yeah right! Played along and ordered Calamari Fritti...you can always order more... Before you know it...along he returns with a field...I believe they refer to it as a salad...but we... More

So you're running around New York - downtown / uptown - and by mid afternoon you're starving. And there stands Carmine's... Festive - the place caters to LARGE TOURIST GROUPS with LARGE APPETITES by serving LARGE PORTIONS of everything Italian. You do pay ($30 Fried Calamari Appetizer - $30 Penne Ala Vodka dish) but you will still bring food home.... More

This family style restaurant was a nice place for our group to start in New York. I liked that each couple purchased an item and we all were able to share. The food was tasty, nothing super special, but tasty. We ordered chicken parm and instead got veal parm... which we didn't realize until we got the bill. Considering I... More

Like many others have said, the food was very good and the portions are very large. We went with a group of 6 people, so we ordered 3 different items and everybody shared. Almost more than we could finish. The lasagna was massive and excellent. Chicken Scaloppine and Shrimp Fra Diavolo (which I swear was Marinara by mistake!) were both... More

We went for a late lunch. Place was having at 4pm. Service was great, with the waiter very helpful in advising what to select. Carmine’s only does big plates of food, so this place is best with four or more and even better when one is a teenager with the appetite of a Saint Bernard dog. Good food, good drinks,... More

Great atmosphere, great service, and great food! What a combInation. My wife and I spent 5 days in NYC and this was a fantastic experience. We called the day before to make our reservation which I'm glad we did as the place was very busy. We had lunch here and asked for recommendations from the server. We chose the penne... More

A plate of spaghetti and meatballs fed 4 of us and 1 dessert completed it! Food was great and so was the service. A restaurant with these kind of portions are hard to find in New York.
