After growing up in NYC & coming back to visit I decided to go to a touristy italian spot off of times sq. I was alone at the bar, service was excellent, food good italian. Family style portions are huge, luckily they let me order something smaller. Surprisingly fun visit!

Can you believe I have never visited this famous NY eatery! Well along with five friends we had a Sunday afternoon dinner before seeing an off Broadway show. I must add that we are all of Italian descent, so to be thrilled with the food at Carmine's says it all. We started with Carmine's salad, fresh spinach with roasted vegetables... More

Ended up at Carmine's on a Monday since Sardi's was closed since the theatres are dark on Mondays. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, which is what attracted me to the place. Ordered spaghetti marinara and the chicken scarpariella for the 4 of us. The pasta was cooked al dente, but the sauce was too watery. None of us were... More

the food is average, the serving portions are by the platter and the platters are huge. That being said, the spaghetti and meatballs were a little dry, sauce just ok and the same for the lasagna. Atmosphere was crazy busy.

We had an enjoyable meal here and the atmosphere was a lot of fun. That said, the food was good, but not great. We'd recommend the overall experience, and would probably do it again.

Everyone must go....bring your appetite however and be warned. We were not. This is more for 3-4 persons/serving or for taking left overs home. The menus are on the wall and for those that cannot see (dang old age creeping up) they will bring you one to the table. Salads are simply huge, even the desserts, they are known for... More

10 of us shared salad, calamari, meatballs & rigatoni, chicken Parmesan , & a penne. The service was fast and the portions large. We even had leftovers to take home.

lunch at 2 pm meant no wait time, quick service. The calamari and marinar were excellent. The pasta was good and big enough for 2 of us to split. Will go again, recommend.

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
