Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. The Carmine's concept is to bring its guests a "wow-factor" sized portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast. Platters of homestyle antipasto, pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing amongst friends and family. When great food and wine are supported by friendly and knowledgeable service, the results are magic - we want every day to feel like a Sunday afternoon at Grandma's.

You need a reservation at all but the least busy times. It is worth the effort. The food is really great! The wait staff is attentive and friendly. The portions are huge. Everything is served family style so if there are two of you there will be leftovers. I will go here every time I'm in NYC.

My family and I dined on the 8th and were extremely pleased with the ambience. I especially enjoyed the background music of Frank Sinatra , Nat king Cole and Dean Martin. Our server Iurie was knowledgeable of the wine pairings and wisely guided us on the portion sizes. The fried calamari was the best we've had and the portion size... More

Really great food was the comment and expectation set by a colleague of mine when we said we were heading to Carmine's - and I have to say it didn't disappoint. The wait staff took the time to explain each and every dish, made some great recommendations, and were attentive throughout the meal without being over-bearing. The food is served... More

My husband ate at Carmine's 6 years ago and wanted to revisit on his second trip to NY. We went on the way to the theatre, sat in the window, had a lovely waitress. We had a huge plate of calamari to share as a starter, one portion between three of us and we still only ate two thirds of... More

We didn't have a reservation and were trying to make it to the theatre ~ we cut it close! We asked for quick service, and we got it! The waiter wasn't warm (very NYC), but very efficient and helpful. The food is delicious. Everything that we ordered was fantastic. It's worth going back for!

This place is extremely unique, has amazing service and the best chicken parm I've ever had. When the waiter tells you each dish feeds at least 4, he's not kidding. These dishes are huge and delicious. The worst part was having to watch the big plates get served to people around us while we waited for our food to come.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
