In the aftermath of Sandy, they only had burgers on the menu. That was just fine by us, as they were the perfect NY burger, and the fries were delicious, as was the cheesecake. Nice place but a bit pricey. Service was not good. Went at.lunch and not even busy and waiter was snotty. A fustrated artist or actor. Too sarcastic. Place might be.good for after work.drinks.

Went on consecutive days by myself. Sat at a table the first, the bar area the second. Warmly greeted on both occasions. Had the crusted scallops, lightly fried tiger shrimp(not at all greasy),lump crab pieces, pecan pie. All very good. Medium expensive.

After a lot of walking through out NYC, we stopped and had an early dinner at City Hall. The service was wonderful, and everything we ordered was delicious.

This is a place with a wonderful staff and decor. Try one of the fresh shellfish platters to start. While not inexpensive, you can have a very good dinner without breaking the bank.

This is a good restaurant. Dinner for 4 with cocktails came to $300. Your not going to find a small town price tags for anything in NYC but City Hall Restaurant had a nice atmosphere and very good service and dry aged steaks and seafood. Service was not rushed so we were able to take our time and enjoy our... More

After a morning of fighting the crowded streets we wanted a quiet place for a drink and a bite to eat. City Hall was the first place we saw that looked promising. We were not disappointed. The food was reasonable priced by NY standards and very well prepared. I had a tuna burger, my wife had a Waldorf salad. Both... More

Happened into this restaurant one late afternoon for a reunion lunch wirh an old friend. Despite the hour we were welcomed for a prix fixe meal with excellent service. One of the best scallop dishes I've had. The vegetable risotto, always a risk, was terrific, too - fresh crunchy pieces of squash and al dente peas, for example. Nice wine... More

Ordered the braised short ribs over grits. Excellent. Great atmosphere and professional service. Nice draft beer selection as well.

We were looking for a "nice" restaurant for a lunch - you know not a two hour fine dining extravaganza or a "pick your food up at the counter and find a table" ... a nice meal. This is the place. There is a good variety of reasonably priced items. The lump crab omelet was good and there are many... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
