Had to queue but well worth the wait ...

Tried the pancakes, simply fab! Very busy cafe side even on a quiet Wednesday morning, good atmosphere and excellent waiting staff - tad on the small side ... on our visit the restaurant was closed for a refurb which, when open, would probably get a 5/5 from us!

I went for brunch. The place was crowded, after a two hour wait, we had blueberry pancakes and a California omelet. They were not bad but not amazing at all. We paid $24 for an omelet which was not even tasty. The place is cute and the service was good too, but the food is not worth the prices and... More

I can't stop waxing lyrical about this place. It was my favourite breakfast for the whole time I was in NY. It didn't feel touristy either. There was a queue out of the door but luckily we did not have to wait long. The pancakes and the breakfast were amazing. The blueberry pancakes are necessary! I also had a Bellini... More

Great place for a quality breakfast. Be sure to book or get there soon as it's easy to find a long queue waiting to be seated.

As far as french toast goes, I have had it before. Was it better here?? Undecided. The maple bacon on top was something new and delicious. Coffee was also pretty good. Be wary as an overseas traveller who might not have a US phone number, you will have to sit and wait for a seat. I lined up and waited... More

My bf wasn't too impressed with the price vs quality, but I thought my breakfast of scrambled eggs, tons of bacon, hash brown potatoes, and a biscuit were absolutely amazing! It was so fresh and well made. He got chicken and waffles and while I did think the waffle was yummy it probably wasn't worth the price... but hey it... More

I don't get the hype of this place. Massive forever line up. Pancakes was so dry :( was expected nice and fluffy as presented. It did look nice but no fluff.

So.. I had read two things mainly about the CSBC - they serve great food and at busy times there is a wait.. a long wait. We were in the city September '15 and tried to plan in a visit here then, but for whatever reason our days just didn't fit in with trying to 'beat the wait'. Back in... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
