Description: The Cupping Room Cafe was established in 1977. It was originally a wholesale coffee establishment. Different blends of coffee were brewed and tasted by perspective customers. This act of blending and tasting different coffees is called cupping - hence the name The Cupping Room. The coffee tasting went so well that the owners decided to change the name from The Coffee Connection to The Cupping Room Cafe. They also decided to open the back of the store and sell coffee and pie to the local artists. The building hosting The Cupping Room is a landmark building. It was the first "tall" building in SoHo and is more than 100 years old. The high tin ceilings, hard wood floors, pot-belly stove and exposed brick walls are all part of the original setting. The Cupping Room was a home for artists and locals. Today it is still a neighborhood place where you can see the locals and the famous come together in our homey environment.

My mum, sister and I spent Thanksgiving in NY and after a hard weekend shopping we had a leisurely Sunday brunch at the Cupping Room Cafe. Between us we had eggs benedict, omelette and bagels with various fillings, all of which was tasty and satisfying and as you'd expect, decent portion sizes. The toast, coffee and orange juice were good... More

I recommend this place to all my friends and colleagues who are visiting New York and none of them have been disappointed. They do the most amazing omelettes as well as all the usual stuff. It has a great atmosphere too

Service was ok, but the standard of hygiene was low. Lax staff too engaged in socialising with each other, sweeping the tables with a cloth just used to wipe the floor, with food left on seats and management too busy leaning on the bar to care. Ordered the Queens Lager which came with some gunk from a previous customers drink,... More

We booked here as a late, last minute decision through a website. They had no knowledge of the booking when we walked in 30 mins later but there was plenty of room. Sat us at a great table near the music. Looking good. Simple menu that covered most bases so late teens with us were happy. Staff were eager but... More

Best breakfast in Soho, the granola is served with delicious fruit, the Orange juice is superb, we found the staff very friendly, attentive and welcoming at all times. Simply loved everything about the place!

This is my favorite brunch in Soho. We come here ourselves, bring guests and recommend it to people visiting NYC. It has something for everyone for brunch. I love the Ty Chai Latte. The place has so much character and a great location to wander around Soho after a lovely brunch.

Pleasant locale, dark in the front, sunny yet noisy in the back. Found it to be extremely overpriced for breakfast with very slow service. Food is nothing exceptional.

Went here for brunch and breakfast a couple of times on our trip. The food is excellent, the coffee is delicious and the service is great. The large room at the back is sunny and light, with a great atmosphere. The best breakfast we had in New York!

Perfect for breakfast or just a stop and go bite, or ice cappucino to go. The sandwiches are very good and the juices very fresh.
