The Cupping Room Cafe was established in 1977. It was originally a wholesale coffee establishment. Different blends of coffee were brewed and tasted by perspective customers. This act of blending and tasting different coffees is called cupping - hence the name The Cupping Room. The coffee tasting went so well that the owners decided to change the name from The Coffee Connection to The Cupping Room Cafe. They also decided to open the back of the store and sell coffee and pie to the local artists. The building hosting The Cupping Room is a landmark building. It was the first "tall" building in SoHo and is more than 100 years old. The high tin ceilings, hard wood floors, pot-belly stove and exposed brick walls are all part of the original setting. The Cupping Room was a home for artists and locals. Today it is still a neighborhood place where you can see the locals and the famous come together in our homey environment.

Nice place located on Broadway in Manhattan. Went on Saturday around 11:30 am.....very crowded but worth the wait. Our group of 3 had different dishes....omelets, pancakes and fruit plates. The food is VERY fresh and tastes good. A very eclectic crowd of people.....very noisy and busy. I would visit again when in NY.

I used to frequent the Cupping Room during the late 90's and early 2000's during my business trips to NYC. Always a great top for breakfast before heading to work. Yesterday, a local friend met my sister and I there for a long overdue catch up. Our friend arrived before us and asked if she could sit down and order... More

A beautiful house-like setting, well spaced tables, great service, tasty and well prepared comfort food, and great live music (gypsy jazz the night we were there) with no cover!!! What more can one ask for? Highly recommended.

Found this little gem while waiting to take a tour in Soho. It was perfect for a late breakfast. The eggs, potatoes and fruit were delicious. Service was good despite being busy.

We have eaten at the Cupping Room Cafe previously and wanted to return. The first time there we had lunch. This time we went for breakfast. They have very good service and healthy food choices that taste great. This is a nice find with plenty of choice. Wish we had a place like this near our home.

Someone took me here years and years ago, so when I was back in NY recently, I decided to go check out this place I remembered loving so much. I was pleased to find the Cupping Room as I remembered it or even better, with many excellent brunch selections as well as a full bar and any coffee concoction you'd... More

I love brunch, because I am not an early riser and not much of a breakfast person but yet on weekends you crave some eggs/pancakes/hash browns/bacon (turkey) etc. First great thing about this place is that you can make reservations. Though it seems super popular as the entire time we were there there was a line up to get a... More

...and the potatoes were amazing too. The Mexican omelette was pretty spicy but oh was it worth it. Very cute place that is much bigger inside than it looks from the street. Service was very good and prompt. Coffee was good too which is critical for breakfast. I will absolutely be coming back! Don't miss this one.
