The Cupping Room Cafe was established in 1977. It was originally a wholesale coffee establishment. Different blends of coffee were brewed and tasted by perspective customers. This act of blending and tasting different coffees is called cupping - hence the name The Cupping Room. The coffee tasting went so well that the owners decided to change the name from The Coffee Connection to The Cupping Room Cafe. They also decided to open the back of the store and sell coffee and pie to the local artists. The building hosting The Cupping Room is a landmark building. It was the first "tall" building in SoHo and is more than 100 years old. The high tin ceilings, hard wood floors, pot-belly stove and exposed brick walls are all part of the original setting. The Cupping Room was a home for artists and locals. Today it is still a neighborhood place where you can see the locals and the famous come together in our homey environment.

Good spot in SoHo for brunch

This is an attractive spot in old building; we enjoyed our brunch here. Unfortunately, it was a hot day and a/c was not working but it wasn't too bad. There were five of us and everyone enjoyed their food. I love a good eggs benedict and it didn't disappoint. My niece had a huge bowl of fruit... read more

A more traditional venue with great egg dishes. I especially loved the options for Eggs Benedict as well as the wide variety of omelets available. Good coffee, too. Reasonable prices given its location.

We lucked out and got a table without a reservation because we happen to go at 9:30. Food, atmosphere and service were really good. Excellent lattes. Could have had a better bagel selection...

I have been here quite a few times over the years and have had yummy food each time. Last week I brought two co workers and everyone was happy with their dinners as always. I had the best roast chicken I think I have ever had. It had the most delicious gravy for n it and was perfectly cooked. The... More

We ate here for Sunday brunch and the food was excellent. I had the traditional eggs benedict which was superb. My friends had an egg dish with pancakes and everyone like the food.

I was looking for a place to have breakfast and I found this place and fell in love with it. Very well decorated and the staff was very pleasant. Price is a little high but I enjoyed everything. My mimosa was really good and the omelette was very tasty.

Went back to The Cupping Room after being away many years. We loved it in the past and wanted to finish out our anniversary weekend there. We're thrilled that we did. Had an omelette and a French toast/egg/bacon offering. All was delicious. Service was terrific. I had a Bloody Mary and it was great. Overall, another wonderful Cupping Room experience.

Our table for six was a little cramped - the only thing stopping me giving it five stars. The great service (with endless coffee) is very welcome. The most wonderfully full flavoured orange juice will never be forgotten. There's a good selection of brunches and I chose the eggs benedict with home fries and Canadian bacon. A real treat. Other...
