Description: The Cupping Room Cafe was established in 1977. It was originally a wholesale coffee establishment. Different blends of coffee were brewed and tasted by perspective customers. This act of blending and tasting different coffees is called cupping - hence the name The Cupping Room. The coffee tasting went so well that the owners decided to change the name from The Coffee Connection to The Cupping Room Cafe. They also decided to open the back of the store and sell coffee and pie to the local artists. The building hosting The Cupping Room is a landmark building. It was the first "tall" building in SoHo and is more than 100 years old. The high tin ceilings, hard wood floors, pot-belly stove and exposed brick walls are all part of the original setting. The Cupping Room was a home for artists and locals. Today it is still a neighborhood place where you can see the locals and the famous come together in our homey environment.

I visit NYC from the Uk most years and usually make a breakfast visit to The Cupping Rooms. The setting is lovely and service friendly. Although not the best Breakfast/brunch I've had in NYC, it is high on the list with a great varied menu to choose from. Another one I would give 4.5 stars if I could.

Had Saturday brunch in this quirky cafe-packed out and so good. We hadn't booked but they seated us immediately. Eggs benedict and eggs florentine, just right. Attentive staff and good value for money, highly recommended !

We stumbled across this cafe - literally following a family into the cafe! We were not disappointed once you got through to the beautiful light airy room at the rear of the cafe. The menu was good and we opted for an omelette with gouda and mushrooms and a breakfast with eggs, bacon and home fries! Extra toast was ordered... More

As not that familiar with Soho, I was on East Broadway looking for 359, oh well, just a short walk to West Broadway for the best breakfast on the planet. Everything was super fresh, organic where possible, outstanding atmosphere and service. This is truly a gem in world travel for breakfast and a must go to in NYC. Prices very... More

I have been traveling to NYC for business for 30+ years and rarely get a chance to play tourists in this wonderful city. My wife and I were staying at the FourPoints Sheraton on Charlton Street and looking for a solid Saturday morning SoHo breakfast place. TripAdvisor had a high rating for Cupping Room with some decent reviews. Short walk... More

The cupping room is like walking into a neighborhood cafe'. The food is delicious, and the service is good. Servings are large. I had the cheddar/apple omelet. Coffee was great! I would go back there for breakfast/lunch anytime.

My mum, sister and I spent Thanksgiving in NY and after a hard weekend shopping we had a leisurely Sunday brunch at the Cupping Room Cafe. Between us we had eggs benedict, omelette and bagels with various fillings, all of which was tasty and satisfying and as you'd expect, decent portion sizes. The toast, coffee and orange juice were good... More

I recommend this place to all my friends and colleagues who are visiting New York and none of them have been disappointed. They do the most amazing omelettes as well as all the usual stuff. It has a great atmosphere too

Service was ok, but the standard of hygiene was low. Lax staff too engaged in socialising with each other, sweeping the tables with a cloth just used to wipe the floor, with food left on seats and management too busy leaning on the bar to care. Ordered the Queens Lager which came with some gunk from a previous customers drink,... More
