Description: The Cupping Room Cafe was established in 1977. It was originally a wholesale coffee establishment. Different blends of coffee were brewed and tasted by perspective customers. This act of blending and tasting different coffees is called cupping - hence the name The Cupping Room. The coffee tasting went so well that the owners decided to change the name from The Coffee Connection to The Cupping Room Cafe. They also decided to open the back of the store and sell coffee and pie to the local artists. The building hosting The Cupping Room is a landmark building. It was the first "tall" building in SoHo and is more than 100 years old. The high tin ceilings, hard wood floors, pot-belly stove and exposed brick walls are all part of the original setting. The Cupping Room was a home for artists and locals. Today it is still a neighborhood place where you can see the locals and the famous come together in our homey environment.

Nice atmosphere and a good variety of brunch, lunch and dinner entrees. The Creekstone burger was huge und perfectly cooked to the ordered point. Same for the peppered tuna. The nachos are too expensive, considering what you get for the price.

We were looking for a place to have dinner on sunday eve. It was delicious, the environment was ideal and the short menu was perfect. We had a cobb salad and a homemade soup. The service was nice also.

In searching Tripadvisor for a breakfast place in Soho, I found Cupping Room with generally good ratings. I disagree. It was barely adequate. The western omelette had a smoky flavor to the ham that overpowered. The potatoes were soaked in grease, appearing as if they had sat warming on the griddle for many hours. My coffee came with no milk... More

Let's face it. The cupping room is run down and they bother redoing any of it since they have everyone who ate there in the 90's ( the likes of me) come back in hope to find some of that great atmosphere and the buzz it used to have on Saturdays and Sundays. The menu is just your typical coffee... More

Quaint with excellent service.....My husband and I had our first "date" there. They redid the bathrooms and they're still very small....but at least not closet sized anymore. Try the granola with fresh fruit and tea. Yummy

Sunday brunch was enjoyable. The Benedict Florentine was very good but the spinach could have been creamier. The bellinis, however, were just right. Wait staff were personable and efficient. The environment with wood and brick was pleasant. It also has an entrance on Broome Street.

After reading other reviews, this place must be better for breakfast. Don"t bother in the evening. No atmosphere, slow service. I had the most boring burger I have ever tasted. In fact, It didn't taste of anything at all. The place was virtually empty and the service was still poor. I don"t why these places get it so wrong as... More

Delicious brunch! The egg white veggie omelette was great and the home fries, bacon and eggs were also yummy. Very nice atmosphere and great stop after shopping in SoHo.
