Enticed by the menu, our group of 6 planned for dinner here before a late broadway show; it's close to the subway and in a great neighborhood. The space is small and crowded but the atmosphere was festive and friendly. We had quality service and the food was divine. Butternut squash ravioli with a brown butter mascarpone sauce, cheese and... More

Cool place for brunch. Food tasty, as were cocktails but service was miserable... Would be 4 stars but service a big let down

Had a lovely lunch on a sunny Fall afternoon at their teeny tables on the sidewalk. We brought our little dog who sunned herself while we dined. I loved my monte christo and the chicken sandwich was also tasty. Friendly staff and in such a quaint neighborhood. We watched people head to the street /house/front stairs where the character Carrie... More

I went to Extra Virgin for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and I have to say that the food is really good. We had a couple of plates and some cocktails, and it was all good and tasty. Good and vibrant atmospehere, as well as impeccable service.

We enjoyed a delicious brunch and good service. The place is small but charming, and we escaped from the ice storm raging outside. We arrived when the restaurant opened, and by the time we left, it was packed.

We came here on a friends’ recommendation and loved it. The atmosphere was nice and cozy, the service fabulous and the food was wonderful. While the menu didn’t necessarily boast the most unique of Italian dishes per se, the way they were prepared were quite unique, and we were really pleased with what we ordered. The Sea Bass was absolutely... More

Delicious food -- actually, the best meal of our entire 5-night stay. We had salmon, hangar steak, and spaghetti & meatballs, and every dish was a winner. Bold flavors, nicely balanced, large portions very unlike trendy NYC -- the meatballs were almost the size of cannonballs -- but unlike most "large portion" places, quality and flavor were not sacrificed for... Love, love, loved this place! Was a little hesitant when we arrived- very small, small bar, and even smaller tables, but the meal was incredible. It was a little difficult getting the 6 of us seated since it's such a small place, but otherwise no complaints. The salmon, chicken, sea bass, pot pie... so good. Not one complaint at our... More

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
