Good lunch spot

I had a delicious Cob Salad which was fresh and filling. Definitely a good lunch spot to know in Greenwhich Village.

We had lunch at this restaurant 2 years ago and loved the salads, so having just arrived in New York wandered in for dinner. We must have timed it perfectly , because the restaurant filled up pretty quickly and there was a queue. The food was really lovely, paella, seafood fettuccine and scallops and the service quick and helpful.

I've been dining here for 10 years and not once had a negative experience. The food is prepared wonderfully and the menu selections vary by season. The Sancerre wine is perfect and pairs well with most of their summer dishes. The roasted Brussels sprouts are a classic but nothing tops the fries with Gorgonzola fondue.

This restaurant in the West Village was recommended to us by our concierge at our hotel. The restaurant was small and romantic. The food was some of the best we ate whilst in New York City. I ordered the rare seared sesame tuna. It was light and full of flavour and colour. My husband ate the scallops which he loved.... More

We had a perfect dinner of Chilean Sea Bass and mushroom encrusted roasted chicken. Side dishes of Brussels sprouts and mashed potato. Entrees were twenty to thirty dollar range. Casual and comfortable restaurant.

I visited Extra Virgin with a friend recently and they were busy, but quickly got us a table despite not having a reservation. Our waitress was great and offered really solid wine recommendations. She was also helpful as I tried to choose between the many delicious sounding dishes on the menu. I settled on the Chilean sea bass, which was... More

Our son has lived in the West Village. We have been to Extra Virgin a number of times with he and his girlfriend. J.R., the Manager, is a very nice guy. Every meal has been good and the drink menu has some great choices. Its always crowded and the wait can be quite long but its worth it. Its become... More

A perfect little place for brunch, full of hustle and bustle a lovely cosy stop off after a morning shopping. Fab and interesting menu, outstanding service and delicious cocktails. One of my favourite spots in the City. Five stars.

I came here with my friends for brunch with a massive hangover from the night before. It was really such a great place to be. The staff was friendly, the food was fantastic, and the neighborhood was inviting. We had the eggs benedict, banana french toast, pancakes and the burger. Everything was delicious, such an enjoyable meal.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
