OMG

This is a great restaurant. I can highly recommend the salmon but all the dishes we had were to die for. The waiting staff was very attentive and made sure we had a perfect evening. We loved it.

Overpriced and big portioned food are the two major factors why I gave it a 2 star rating. There's more into that-the dry seabass which came out 5 minutes after we ordered- that I could blantly say that this is one of the worst food deals in New York. Is it worth the time and money? No.

The food here is magnificent. The menu offers sufficient variety to satisfy everyone including the vegetarian in our group. The flavors on the plate are wonderful. I had the Chilean Sea Bass which was perfectly cooked, flaky and hot. They allowed 3 of the 6 in our party to share two appetizers. I liked that. The restaurant is too small... More

This place is nothing short of amazing. It is a local restaurant (i.e. not filled with tourists) and it caters to a great crowd. They do not take reservations. It's very popular with folks in the neighborhood and if you're lucky like us you'll get to sit next to a celebrity having dinner! We went for dinner around 7:30pm on... More

Last visited this restaurant in 2010 and the good news is that it is still one of the best restaurants I have been to - this I brought two friends and they also agree it was a great meal -we enjoyed paella, scallops in prosciutto, lobster ravioli and monkfish - every dish was excellent - in West village and worth... We picked Extra Virgin to celebrate a family members birthday for its great location and Italian menu. It was expensive to us, but I guess not by NYC standards. We were a large party so they accepted our reservation, but when seated the table was really tight for our group and the table was packed in a corner that meant... More

My husband and I were visiting friends in NJ for the weekend and traveled into NYC for a visit. While sitting at a pub out in NYC we were googling and yelping to try to find a restaurant that had a wide range of choices as my husband has some dietary restrictions. Extra Virgin is a hidden gem. The food... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
