Description: Chef Frank Castro serves nostalgic dishes with his deft culinary signature...
Chef Frank Castro serves nostalgic dishes with his deft culinary signature as well as modern creative interpretations of Spanish cuisine. We have an extensive tapas menu and also serve a full service dinner. One of our signature dishes is the Paella Valenciana - lobster, scallops, mussels, clams, chicken, shrimp, and Spanish sausages with saffron rice. Pair this savory dish with one of the wines from our carefully selected list or with our famous secret-recipe sangria. The decor is reminiscent of a baroque Spanish castle and brings to mind stories of unrequited gothic romances - intimate, sexy and candlelit with an air of mystery. Flor de Sol features live entertainment on Wednesdays from 7:30pm to 10:30pm.

Spanish Ambiance

If you want a first time walk in impression, For de Sol is it. I used to go to the one in Tribeca, which had a medieval castle feel to it. Was so excited to go to a Spanish Tapas style place. Was very under wowed. It was so average, we ordered a bunch of items, and nothing stood out as really good, or of something of note.

Been here once before and the food was good, and so was the service. Today, it wasn't crowded, and we were completely ignored. It's a shame, as it is a pretty good place, in a great area. I might give it another chance. But the service better improve.

Awesome food, very expensive but it's NYC. The guacamole with plantain chips was excellent. We also really enjoyed the white sangria. Conveniently located right by the Chelsea Market and the High Line.

I celebrated my 40th birthday at Flor De Sol on Saturday, March 22, 2014. My guests and I had a great time. Jenny - the coordinator, was very professional from the time we starting planning and was actually there where I got to meet her for the very first time. She was lovely. They created personalized menus and seated us... More

It isn't always easy to please a party of 8! Starting with an amazing waiter that offered useful suggestions to first-time tapas eaters, the music was energizing and set the perfect mood for a cozy setting! Everything was delicious, the guacamole was incredible and the calamari and polpo with black rice was so good! The best part was having different... More

We go to Spain a lot and although we're not experts we know a fake Spanish restaurant when we see one. This place was wonderful, the best black rice we've ever had (it was black and tasty not grey and bland!). The tapas were all good (tapas sized not appetisers), the service was very good and on a Monday night... More

Located at 16th street entrance to the High Line. Tasty tapas (we especially liked the albondigas, calamari and short ribs) and sandwiches. But good luck getting the right order or getting your glass refilled. The wait staff were nowhere to be found. We even had to walk up to the front desk to ask for the check. To add insult... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
