Great place for Steak in Austin

Great evening out. Had the wonderful meal. If you are brave, try and finish the Porterhouse. All portions are big and very tasty.

I picked this restaurant based on the reviews and the proximity to our hotel. It was an excellent choice. The food was great and the service was great. Very nice atmosphere. We will definitely eat here again when we return to NYC.

Getting stuck in Friday night traffic, we found ourselves near Gallaghers and decided to get out of the taxi and into a nice cocktail. We phoned our nephew to join us and shortly we were sipping perfect Manhattans and bourbon sours accompanied by warm housemade chips and clams casino. We were steep In conversation and laughter and decided to continue... More

Old school New York steak house. Large portions, excellent drinks. Well placed for before or after theater dining. Very quick and attentive service (huge number of staff bustling about all the time). Yes, it is expensive and you get what you pay for.

Went to Gallagher's last Wednesday night on my trip to New York and I am sorry to report it was not the best of experiences. I ate at the bar and the service was good enough but the food was not all that good. I had the lamb chops and they basically had no taste whatsoever. I have had a... More

My husband likes to conquer Steakhouses on every trip we take. Gallagher's was on his list on our recent trip to NYC from the San Francisco Bay Area. We made reservations and had friends from New Jersey join us. I had a soft-shell crab dinner which was tasty and a nice salad. The men-folk split a gigantic steak. I had... More

It was our first time here so we didn't know what to expect. Our waiter seemed very serious but was professional. The French Onion soup was unbelievable. Then we each got steaks, mushrooms & Onions, broccoli and a baked potato to share. It was WAY too much food. I wish that they had a petit filet as 10oz was the... More

We went here before seeing the Broadway show, Jersey Boys, which was across the street and it was a great experience! The steaks are big but very soft and tasty. All the portions are big here! The sides are ample and one should really think about how hungry you are before you order because it will be hard to finish... More

We loved Gallagher's. Best steaks in town. We had been to the one in Vegas and could not wait to try the one in NY. We were not disappointed. The Key Lime Pie was to die for. We also received a chocolate cake on the house in honor of our occasions...including serenade by the waitstaff.

Went to try their steaks after a friend recommendation. Got there at a quarter past four so the lunch menu was over and I paid the full dinner prices. The place is very nice and the service was implacable. The bread and gazpacho soup were mediocre. I ordered the bone in sirloin medium as I figured they tend to over... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
