Just been there, food average and service at least the one that served us with a clear attitude problem, the guy even felt oblige to tell us that 15 % tips was the norm,,,,he probably though that because I have a French accent I did not know his country (work and live here...),so instead of usually the 20/25 I give... more

Thank you for informing us of your issue at dinner last night. Gallagher's Steak House is well known for our dry aged prime beef. What sets us apart is our commitment to using the best quality ingredients. Our steaks are dry-aged in house, as you may have observed on your way in. Our steaks are cooked without any additions (i.e.:...

Prime steak - maybe before it was cooked. And, it wasn't cooked to our order. History - yeah, the years of shuffling tables our waiter had under his belt. Atmosphere - sure, lack of oxygen in the room. Service - yeah, I got serviced alright. $300+ for 4 and a major disappointment. more

We booked on line and on arrival they had the number in our party wrong. All the staff we came into contact with (front desk manager, barman, waiter) all had an attitude that said "you are here for our benefit, we are not here to serve you and we really don't care". The food was just ok, but the steaks... more

I had eaten at Gallaghers on previous trips to New York and really enjoyed it, so I looked forward to taking my wife there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I had made a reservarion, so we were seated almost immediately. After we were given our menus the waiter was back before we had time to read it, let alone make... more

Stumbled upon Gallaghers whilst looking for a restaurant local to the theatre we were seeing Jersey Boys at. This restaurant was just across the street less that one minute away. The first thing that fascinated me was the glass steak refrigerator at the front of the premises were you could view the cuts of beef maturing. The restaurant is staffed... more

Very rude staff, who demand 20% tip, for poor service. Meal was ok, but at $120 for 2 drinks a burger and a steak with a potatoe and a bowl of spinich is very over priced to say the least............ more

Admittedly my first experience, and I went solo on a Friday afternoon before I knew the theatre crowd would hit. I entered at 3:15 PM figuring I could eat at the bar. I ordered a drink and asked for the menu. The very polite bartender stated that after 3 PM they don't serve food at the bar but when I... more

Brief review summary: bad quality meat, incompetently cooked, avoid! On a recent visit to NYC, I was really excited to go to Gallagher's for the first time; I had made reservations one month in advance. I love steaks and I love traditional New York culinary establishments, such as the now defunct Gage and Tollner in Brooklyn. I knew that the... more
