Great food but..

Seriously overpriced restaurant with great food. Extraordinarily quality of filet mignon. Waiters are old school and finance driven. Nice list of wines but prices 50 to 60% above reasonable level compared with premium European restaurants .

I was there with 5 work colleagues. We got in around 8:30. The bar was lively and the restaurant quite busy. Waiters were attentive but clearly very busy. My steak was very tasty, mash was not so making the meal good but nothing special really. I'd go again but be more careful on the sides.

We went after watching Chicago on Sunday evening, lovely place although it was late and not so busy so I guess when it's busier the atmosphere would have been even better. My friend and I had the fillet mignon medium this was cooked to perfection, the mashed potato asparagus and onion rings sides were amazing, I am not a huge... More

We visited Gallaghers after watching Chicago "The Musical". We were greeted by the friendly staff at the entrance and were shown the various cuts of meat stored in the infamous room which everyone looks at as they walk past the restaurant! The service here is amazing. We were both made to feel as if we were about to eat our... More

A little pricey, but the steaks were out of this world and the service was top notch. We went without a reservation and they were very accomodating. I'd go again. The atmosphere was old school, professional and very comfortable. I really enjoyed my dinner and the place!

We came here before seeing an evening show across the road. The service was excellent and although it was the most expensive meal we had in New York it was also our favourite. The waiter was very friendly and gave us advice on the steaks. The steak we ordered was the porterhouse for 2 people and it was delicious. Definitely... More

During our stay in NYC, we literally had or hotel next door to this place. We walked past it a few times, and have been admiring the display of dry-aged beef a few times. That's a place we need to visit! However, it took until our last night to actually go there. Quickly made a reservation online, and when the... More

Took my family to Gallagher's before going to see Finding Neverland at the theatre. You could be intimidated when walking in but we were welcomed immediately and the black suited and linen apron waiting staff immediately went to work on my kids. It is a steak house so we had steaks - although son had a veal chop! They recommended... More

I went to dinner with a business colleague and old friend. We both had Prime Rib well-done which was done to our liking. The Lobster Bisque Soup was outstanding as was the breads. The broccoli rabe and scalloped potatoes that we ordered as sides was very good as was our service. This [place is a mainstay for me.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
