The jazz brunch is great; mimosas, food, etc. Don't sit too close to the jazz band if you expect to carry a conversation. The staff was great and they didn't rush you out. It gets busy so make reservations and get there early.

This place is very cozy and has great jazz music with some personal fun touch (musicians interact with guests). The service is great and if you can sit near the fireplace it is nice and warm. Great for friends and couples. I also enjoyed the fact that it is not in the middle of the crazy downtown and times square.... More

Food was great, we had the steak, and the music was great. Our Bartender was very friendly and helpful. We almost didn't stay because the waitress led us to a crummy very small table and wouldn't allow us to sit at a four top. We were on our way out the door when we spotted two seats at the bar-... After having made a pilgrimage to The Stonewall Inn, we found ourselves hungry, and ready for an unplanned dinner. Down the street, after asking some locals, we found Garage. Garage was a pleasing discovery. They have jazz 7 nights a week. The night we were there they had a jazz orchestra called The Howard Miller Orchestra. The music was amazing,... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by previous visitors to NY. However, after reading the latest reviews on here we weren't sure whether to try it or not.... I'm so glad we did. What a great place. Great atmosphere, great service, great jazz but most importantly, great food. We're not easily impressed with restaurant food, it has to be really... More

Went to Garage hoping for a nice brunch experience. I have been there on several occasions and it's always entertaining to sit back and listen to the live music and colorful characters. Since it's summer in NYC we opted for an outside table. The place wasn't busy at all with only 2 other tables outside. We did the unlimited drink... More

Came here for brunch with friends and it was a terrible experience. The jazz music is ok and relaxing I guess.. We came after the brunch rush 3pm. We were seated right next to the kitchen and were able to see the kitchen flow. We had no problems ordering our food. but i guess our waiter totally forgot about us.... More

Went there today for some Saturday brunch. Place was still Halloween like decorated, which was pretty nice. Jazz music was good and not too loud. Food was OK (unfortunately too cold) but reasonably prized. We were a group of eight and all of us had different dishes. Service was a bit slow, but this didn't bother us. Would come back.... More

After reading a review in the NY Times for 10 hot spots for brunch with unlimited drinks; I narrowed down the choices to Garage in the village. Sunday Brunch October 26th at 11:30. First the good stuff: We were seated promptly(actually an hour earlier than our reservations and the place was busy) in a great table upstairs overlooking the band... More

Weekend Brunch at 11:00 AM in October 2014 with 6 friends. Despite 11:30 reservation, we were seated earlier, perhaps somewhat grudgingly, as if we were an inconvenience (the place was completely empty). Overall, main reason for poor rating: Value of meal is well below price paid. Cons: Bagel (in New York City!) of inferior quality (frozen/microwaved, NOT fresh!), tiny size... More
