Always go-to Japanese in Times Square area

This is my go-to place when I'm seeing a show or movie in Times Square area. Always order the king crab dumplings and eel rolls. You can't go wrong with any dishes. It's reasonably priced and service is usually very good.

This place was within walking distance to our hotel Marriott Marquis in Times Square. We had booked a table and a good thing as it seems to be a very popular place and was packed. Our server was really good and the food was excellent specially the sushi and the lobster tempura. I only wished they would add fried rice... More

Just passing on way to theater. Shared a Crayfish role, very tasty especially for someone who is not crazy about fish. Followed by Crispy Duck very nice. Ended with fried cheesecake, just ok. Service good

The atmosphere feels a little cold. Everything we had was ok, nothing fantastic and a little pricey but you can't beat the location. The wait staff was attentive and everything seemed clean.

I have been to Haru a few times given its proximity to my office. When I walked in for dinner most recently and greeted the employees standing at the front, one proceeded to imitate my accent while I was waiting to be seated and the others smirked in agreeance. I was quite stunned and very uncomfortable.

I should preface this that I was in the mood for some Asian cuisine and I was hoping to go to Hakkasan but alas that was not possible. I wandered along 43rd Street and stumbled upon Haru and thought it looked smart enough and was happy to give it a go. The service was pretty poor to be fair, having... More

The food was great. My husband and I enjoyed the sushi very much, while my kids had excellent fried calamari. Great location, perfect after a show at Broadway.

I was in NYC on a short weekend visit and saw Haru close by from our hotel. I love Japanese food, particularly sushi...so I am very picky when it comes to finding a first-rate Japanese restaurant. My aunt and I dined at this restaurant on July 12th. I must say, I was completely impressed with the overall quality of food... More

The place is nice, the staff also, but nothing special. The sushi were very good, the fish tasted fresh. We had the plate sushi for 2 for 60$. Got good Japanese kirin beer. The card could be expanded in terms of non-alcoholic drinks.

We told the hostess we needed to be out in 1/2 hour to make it to a Broadway show. We were seated and the waitress help us pick our sushi. It can in 5 minutes and we were out in 1/2 hour. The sushi was exxellent.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
