Good sushi

The place is nice, the staff also, but nothing special. The sushi were very good, the fish tasted fresh. We had the plate sushi for 2 for 60$. Got good Japanese kirin beer. The card could be expanded in terms of non-alcoholic drinks.

The food was great. My husband and I enjoyed the sushi very much, while my kids had excellent fried calamari. Great location, perfect after a show at Broadway.

I was in NYC on a short weekend visit and saw Haru close by from our hotel. I love Japanese food, particularly sushi...so I am very picky when it comes to finding a first-rate Japanese restaurant. My aunt and I dined at this restaurant on July 12th. I must say, I was completely impressed with the overall quality of food... More

We told the hostess we needed to be out in 1/2 hour to make it to a Broadway show. We were seated and the waitress help us pick our sushi. It can in 5 minutes and we were out in 1/2 hour. The sushi was exxellent.

One of our favorites whenever we are in NYC. Sushi is always excellent. Great prices during happy hour. Welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. Would highly recommend.

It was a pleasure to have my lunch here. I love sushi and this place offered their food in the traditional Japanese way. I had crab dumplings as a starter; this was so delicious! Taste was very good. We also had chicken and rice, but the rice and the chicken where too dry. The service was good and we had... More

The restaurant was clean and had nice decor. We ordered miso soup, shrimp/vegetable tempura, and California rolls. The miso soup was adequate, but mine had zero seaweed and hardly any tofu. The tempura was quite good and the flavor and texture was very nice. The rolls were a big disappointment. The did not have cucumber in them, so they were... More

The old Haru in the theatre district was very exotic and the food was excellent. This new version is a very poor iteration. Though there is a fun vibe at the bar, the food is not worth it.

Four of us arrived with a 5:30 dinner reservation prior to an 8:00 theater curtain a block or so away. Half the tables were full when we arrived, most before we finished two hours later. We were quickly given menus and water by the friendly, professional waitstaff. We shared two appetizers, Popcorn Shrimp Tempura, and seared scallops, both arriving piping... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
