Essential for theater goers in NYC

A great place to dine after a play or other theatrical event. They have a superb knowledge of exactly what is on offer on Broadway and exactly when you can arrive after each show. We were two minutes late last night after seeing Penn and Teller at the Marquis last night, for example. Excellent... read more

This place was amazing! Best dining experience during our 4 day stay in Manhattan from the food, wine selection, ambiance and location. Our servers, Steven & Jeffrey were the best, both of them made our evening a night to remember and we will definitely be returning on our next trip to the big apple!

went there after a performance of Ruthless the Musical(a great off Broadway show) the food was good and the service excellent. Enjoyed the walls full of posters from shows that didn't make it on Broadway, highly recommend it before or after a performance.

This is the 3rd time I have been at this establishment. A great place for before or after a show. We had a lovely dinner before the show. Our steaks were cooked the way we asked & the Ceasar Salad is perfect. Our waiter was friendly, professional & very attentive. We did not feel like we were being rushed at... More

What a great spot for dining before or after a show. My husband ate lunch there earlier in the week and we hit it after the theatre. the service was great and the food was sensational. We enjoy dining out and this restaurant was a wonderful experience. I cannot wait to dine here again. Go, go, go to Joe Allen!

My friend and I had a wonderful light dinner at Joe Allen's before our theater date. The service is fast and the menu offers a varied selection of food. Many actors and actresses and theater people dine here. Close to Broadway and it has been in business for many years. A real treat!

Stopped here before a show. The drinks were excellent. I had the meatloaf which was just ok. Nothing special. My daughter had the rigatoni and sausage. Very flavorful. We choose the cheesecake which was delicious! My only complaint is the food came out so quick

Can't be missed for an intimate quiet dinner. As stated, most excellent and welcoming service. The lobster crab sandwich is one I will come back for. Mixed drinks oh so good.

We had a very nice pre-theatre meal with friends, the service is courteous and efficient. the food is simple but perfectly acceptable for the price tag. An easy option pre-show!

Mouthwatering... I've only visited the city twice, but both times I have ordered the same exact meal and been 100% satisfied. The steak was melt in your mouth amazing and that red wine sauce was equally incredible. Location is fabulous and the ambiance is perfect. My first visit was with my husband and we enjoyed a quiet, romantic meal. The... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
