This was a perfect little restaurant that wasn't super pricey. The ambiance was nice as well with a romantic and relaxed feel. Great place to get in and out before a Broadway show.

Had a very good casual dinner at Joe Allen after theater. We made our reservation in advance and it was honored right on time. The staff was very friendly, drinks delicious and welcoming staff. The restaurant is small so make a reservation. We liked that we had an option of having a lite dinner or more substantial one. The portions... More

This spot really is a great location for an after-theater drink. Walls are covered with posters from Broadway "flops" over the past several decades. Unfortunately- the food (to include appetizers) is just "ok". So, after the play- I recommend you limit yourself to some drinks at this convenient, friendly location.

I last went to Joe Allen's in the 90s but for the life of me, I don't remember it being below street level. I went on a Friday night and it was very busy. The atmosphere was festive but the place is terribly cramped. The food was good but nothing special, and the rushed service is geared more towards pre-theater... More

We had tickets for a matinee today. I brought my 7 year old niece and my Mom. Did not want fast food but also didn't want to spend a fortune. First we arrived 30 minutes early but were seated right away. The captain and waiter were pleasant and attentive. The menu has omeletts, great sandwiches and entrees. We had a... More

We often go to Joe Allen in London. The good news is that the New York version is equally good and very recognisable to anyone who has been to the London restaurant. The food was very good but best of all was the excellent service. We are in New York celebrating 30 years marriage, this time with out children! Mentioned... More

My family and I had dinner here after a matinee. My son ordered the grilled chicken. I thought the price was a bit high for chicken, but the menu is limited. So the chicken was amazing and I ended up eating his and he really enjoyed the burger that I ordered. The portions are generous and the service was great.... More

This is a great place to eat before or after the theatre in NYC. The food is very good, not too pricey and the waitstaff is very capable. Very much a fun, theatre atmosphere.
