Great place and convenient to Broadway shows

Joe Allen is a great restaurant in the theater district. The menu felt like mom's kitchen and it did not disappoint. We had the NY Strip Steak and Meatloaf and even tried the Mac and Cheese appetizer. All of this was followed by warm apple pie...see why it makes me think of mom's kitchen! Wait... read more

Great restaurant in theatre area in Manhattan. Lovely brunch and the chicken pot pie is really good comfort food on a cold day! Service team are very friendly and give you a warm welcome.

Not an adventurous kitchen but what they do, they do well. The big attraction here are the familiar faces of working actors who often show up for midday or after theatre meals. Check out the posters on the walls; all for failed Broadway shows going back many years.

I hadn't been back to NYC in 12 years so I could hardly wait to get back to my favorite restaurant! It is still amazing. The wait staff there is superb! Everyone was super friendly and the service was terrific. I can't see how anyone can say this restaurant is pricey, it probably is one of the best value restaurants,... More

Went to Joe Allen before going to a matinee and was very pleased with what we found. We didn't have reservations but were able to get the last available table. The waitress asked if we needed to be finished by a certain time and made sure we were taken care of. Great, lively, friendly atmosphere. My beet salad consisting of... More

We came for dinner with 6pm reservations and we seated as soon as we got there. The person seating us was a little rude when we told him we didn't want to check our coats, but the service was good and the dining room was very nice. My wife had the mixed green salad and I had the caesar, both... More

A true NYC landmark & rightly so! Perfect place for post-theatre dinner -- a wonderful experience with excellent entrees, appetizers & desserts. Waitstaff is always friendly & attentive. You never know who might decide to dine there if you're hoping to spot someone "famous"....

We have been loyal Joe Allen customers for decades. We were heartbroekn that their Miami Beach Resatuarant closed- it was outstanding. We have eaten in the Paris restaurant ( Les Halles) many times for a Burger Fix. This trip it was for a late lunch- reliably great burgers and fries that really satisfy- with excellent friendly service and reasonable prices.... More

I've been going here for many years, an actress friend introduced me to this place back in the 70's. Wonderful pre show atmosphere with posters of shows that failed. Solid american fare, we had delicious perfectly cooked steaks served by an actress, naturally. Victoria loved observing the interesting quite sophisicated and somewhat artsy crowd, me too. Going to see a... More
