Sandwiches and light meals I.e meatloaf, hamburgers, fries and lots more. Friendliest bartender and hostess. Make you feel like family even on your first visit. Bring friends and enjoy.

My wife and I make at least one trip a year to New York for a Broadway show or two. Every year we have a post theatre supper afterward and Joe Allen has been our favorite for many of those years. This year was no exception. This typical NY restaurant for the pre or post theatre crowd is a five... More

After the theatre in NY , visited an old favourite for a late night light meal . Joe Allen did not let us down , good food brunch style, for us, Well cooked and well served by chatty waiter priced very competitive , one the originals still delivering to the theatre crowd .

Cheeseburgers cooked to order thick and tasty. Also had pulled pork sandwich which was good and bread was crispy. Stuffed French toast was incredible. Mascarpone cheese gave it a nice kick. Everything was very good. Pitcher of water on table was great touch. We all enjoyed our meal and plan to return.

Not the best meal ever but certainly best in class. The hostesses were friendly, seated us without a reservation when the restaurant was booked solid and the meal(s) were excellent in a modest price range. Returned a second night instead of trying a second restaurant on 46th street (known as restaurant row by the locals).

Had my first meal at Joe Allen during a New York trip that included seeing Book of Mormon. Comfortable walk from the theatre, even on a very cold night in February. You step down into the restaurant, and it has a warm, intimate feel to it. Sort of like an upscale speak-easy. The staff (hostess and waitstaff) were very friendly... More

For old Manhattan atmosphere don't miss Joe Allen's! Great food at very reasonable prices. We walked from our hotel and then after dinner walked to our Broadway show. Just tell the reservation clerk what time you need to be at the theater and they will tell you what time to come to Joe Allen's.

Solid dining experience in great traditional TS atmosphere. Great staff good food with diverse enough menu. One watch out - don't order a burger medium rare on weekdays unless you are partial to tartare!

Strange to go to the "original" Joe Allen after being a regular at the London one for years! but this was our first visit here. We were not disappointed. Food excellent, laid back but efficient service, the only slight negative was, after we had finished eating and we're chatting, being repeatedly asked "how is everything?" (Read: when are you going?).... More

We had a wonderful dinner at Joe Allen's last night. I was still full from a late lunch so I only had the beet & kale salad, my daughter had a burger, and our friends both had the grilled chicken everything was very good. Our server was great, offered suggestions, kept our tea glasses full, etc. I would defiantly go... More
