Cosy, busy and vibrantfor after show dinner

Reservation recommended. We really wanted to enjoy this dinner but didn't. The bread was a rustic sourdough but almost too tough to chew. The butter was refrigerator cold so difficult to spread. We had to ask for bread plates. I ordered a shrimp pasta and side salad and my son ordered a sirloin steak with fries. The $11 side salad was fine.... More

Booked for a pre theatre dinner and really enjoyed the food and the ambience of this busy New York restaurant. The service was great too. Enjoyed it so much that we returned for lunch on Sunday and we weren't disappointed on the second visit either. It is reasonably priced considering the location and if we were staying in New York... We arrived without a reservation and we were instantly shown to a table. The staff were friendly and attentive making sure we were settled. Water was offered instantly and we were then left to look over the menu. This is not a burger joint, although you can get burgers, but a great quality restaurant nestled not far from Broadway -... Arrived upon opening w/o a reservation and were seated at a nice table under skylight. Three hamburgers were ordered based on a suggestion made in a trip advisor review and they did not disappoint and the chicken sandwich was a hit as well. A chocolate desert with hot fudge and ice cream topped off our meal perfectly. Service was well... More

Great and quiet before the theatre. Food is quality, service is so friendly. Mix of tourists, locals and theatre professionals.

Another great recommendation from our Big Apple Greeter. Two weary friends arrived after a hard days sightseeing to be greeted by a friendly face. Timed it perfectly just as theatre goers leaving for shows. The atmosphere was amazing and food to match. This place reminds me of "Cheers" in that warm friendly way. Love it.x

Joe Allen is the perfect post Broadway restaurant . . . feels like New York, it's bustling but not too crowded, and it takes reservations. This was my family's second visit there and we will be back. Request a table towards the front - they sat us by the kitchen in the back this time and I felt slighted. My... More

If you can get a reservation, this is the place to spot celebrities that are performing on Broadway. The food is good, reasonably priced and the service is very efficient. We sat at a table next to Kristen Chenowith!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
