Home style cooking at its best is our mantra. You are met at the door with our abundantly filled pastry cases. The shelves are filled with our homemade layer cakes, flaky pies, iced cupcakes, fruit crisps and so much more to tempt you on your way to a table. Kitchenette can satisfy all your cravings whether it be an oasis from the cold with our own hot chocolate topped with a homemade marshmallow, or a steamy bowl of chicken soup or a hearty meal of turkey meatloaf and mashed potatoes. We are a home away from home.

Super quaint, great food, efficient service

Try the garden scramble. The eggs were cooked perfect! You can get it with a garden salad (yes!), home fries or grits. The grits and salad were great. Biscuit was a little dry, but the homemade butter that came with it was excellent. The atmosphere is super chill with a hip diner feel. Wait staff... read more

Seriously - 2 blocks of French Toast on a bare plate for $15, 2 biscuits with gravy for $15. No, no, no. If the food was outstanding - maybe. But it was all just okay. Service was a little slow, but friendly. Decor is fun and quirky. I guess I'm just spoiled by the choices I have at home of... More

We had been to the lower-Manhattan location of Kitchenette and loved it, so when we were headed to Morningside Heights some friends suggested we meet here for breakfast. From the street it is easy to miss - it is just a blip on the street. But inside it is a bustling, friendly place. I love the food: unpretentious, imaginative and... More

My wife, who is participating in a conference at Columbia, and I have met here for lunch the past two days. She has ordered the short stack of pancakes and I have ordered the bacon and cheddar omelette. Delicious both times. They have a simple breakfast/lunch menu that adds a bit of comfort to what can be the fast pace... More

Kitchenette catered a baby shower for our daughter. Jill, the catering manager, was extremely effective and easy to work with. She was very helpful with planning the meal and helped us put together a great menu. The food was wonderful. Service during the event was provided by Eve who was wonderful to work with and a great help. We could... More

We arrived on a Sunday morning before we left for our return flight from La Guardia. We were sure that it was a good choice as we arrived just as it was opening and there were people waiting outside. Tables are very close together but provided that you can accept the close proximity of other diners there is a lot... More

A few days ago we were meeting friends uptown and we were looking for a a restaurant where we could have a great meal and still get to our concert in about an hour. My wife read some great reviews about the Kitchenette and we decided to check it out. It looks like it was once a tiny Ice cream... More

We were all running late and hadn't had breakfast - so these delicious omelets at 1:30 in the afternoon hit the spot. Great fresh ingredients - terrific absolutely friendly/engaging service. The omelets were generous and well made...and those biscuits! Yum. Good coffee (and soy milk/soy lattes are available!). We'll be back - we want to be regulars! I was not... More
