Love The Knickerbocker at any time of day or night. I met my friend here recently and we had a lovely light meal of salad (I think it was called the Knickerbocker) and smoked salmon. We also split a shrimp cocktail. I was sort of disappointed they took the smoked salmon with the latke off the menu but this smoked... More

Great vibe and feel in this restaurant with good service decent wine and amazing rib eye steak. At the time this was the best steak I had ever tasted. Pricy for sure but great steak and awesome spinach, truffle butter was also really good. November 2010 visit

Nice restaurant, I had the pasta which was good but the prices are pretty expensive. The bar is nice and spacious and with a wide variety of food and drinks.

We were greeted immediately by Charles the Maitre d, who seated us right away at a great table. Our server Brie was awesome! We had the oysters and crab cake to start, followed by the wedge salad, then the best porterhouse we ever had. We also ordered a side of fries with gorgonzola and truffle, absolutely decadent. Tied for our... More

This place is right next to our friend's apartment. So we go here regularly. There's no denying that the steaks are great. The Knickerbocker's Famous T-Bone Steaks are definitely worth trying and, if you are hungry, don't share! The only disappointment is that the service can be patchy. Sometimes the food takes some time to come. That said, we'll be... More

I went in July with a friend. I had the filet, my buddy had the flank steak. They were both good, not spectacular, but good. No complaints. Its a old school place, lots of charm. nice strong drinks and pretty good food. Its a crowded popular spot. On my 1-10 scale I give it a 7. Its not super creative,... More

This is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant, so when I bring people here from other parts of the city they are shocked to find out that the best steak in New York can be found here. I have made bets with all my friends and they all agree it is the best. The steak is served with creamed spinach, onion rings... More

Really quirky place, teeming with eccentrics. A great people watching spot. Good food and interesting wines. Our waitperson, a tall blonde woman, gave great service. We had an excellent lunch here. Great Guacamole, interesting soup with crabmeat. I would highly recommend Knickerbocker.

Went in twice on our visit to NYC. Been several times before and it never seems to disappoint. I had the best BBQ ribs I've had for years. Second visit I had Chicken Caesar salad which was large and really tasty. Service is always good, menu has a great choice of meals and price wise, not too expensive for a... More

Great atmosphere and very good service. But the steak was not as tender as one would expect at those prices. And the all American cheese cake was not well prepared. Too dry and too big.
