It's a classic!

One might think that I'm 60 years old because of the old neighborhood favorites I've been reviewing lately. But Knickerbocker is a sure shot for a classic, classy brunch with top notch service! We were delighted when these kind folks managed to squeeze us in on a busy weekend night. They bent over backwards to accommodate the whole family, including our restless 2 year old niece. This restaurant came highly recommended from our friends at home in England so we had to try it out. The food was delicious; very high quality ingredients... More

We found the place walking by.We were seated very quickly even though the place was very busy. Nicely decorated inside. The food was excellent, and reasonably priced. Corned beef hash is scrumptious. The staff was very polite! I would definitely go back to at least have a Bloody Mary which was delicious!

Last Saturday I decided to have an early brunch with my seven year son. It was around noon, and the restaurant was 3/4 empty. There were many vacant booths so I asked the waiter for one. The waiter complied, and just when my son was sitting there, a manager -a middle age lady-asked us quite forcibly lo leave the booth... More

I first stopped by here many years ago and had a ball with the local bar denizens and the bartender. Good drinks and food too. I've been back since, most recently in May, and the experience is still OK. The bar and dining area has that deep dark wood steakhouse feel and the regular locals still have a quietly fine... More

Fortunately, we booked a table on the evening we visited. The restaurant was buzzing and the atmosphere was great. Forgetting the girl on Front-of-House who was surly and rude, the rest of the experience was lovely. The food was very well cooked to the degrees we asked for and the choice was superb. We chose a reasonably expensive white wine,... More

Friends took us to this establishment located downtown just a couple blocks from their 12th street apartment. Huge steaks, great sides and people watching made the evening fun and nostalgic. A plus? We noted several famous people in the crowd who have apartments in the neighborhood. Very cool.

I come to this restaurant everytime i visit nyc, i came first with my dad and then with my sister. My dad ordered the steak that was juicy, the mashed potatoes were real potatoes not some boxed powder and the spinach was heavenly. I ordered the lobster bisque, a bit salty and a grill fish that was just perfect. The... More

My family has been going to Knickerbocker's for years and each and every time we had a terrific meal. I have had the steaks, brunch items, chicken and my clear favorite are the steaks. Service is excellent: wine list is extensive and atmosphere is fun. It is also great to eat at the bar.

Busy Friday evening with group of 6 with reservations. Went right in, great table near the piano. Server, Bill was excellent. Piano and Bass began playing at the perfect sound level and just enhanced the dining experience. Excellent Matza soup special. Chefs special, sliced briskett in a nice sauce. Steakes really look good.

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
