We both liked this place, a lot. We'll be back!

This is the place if your looking for something 'comfy & friendly'. The food is terrific. Service is attentive. It looks like a great place to meet a (small) group of friends as well as have an intimate dinner for two. It's a little pricy, but with liberal portions. The burgers are terrific, though... read more

One of the best meals i have had - tea bone for two to share, creamed spinach, onions rings and the best chocolate soufflé i have ever had - i have been here three times on three different visits and each time it got better. Once for steak for brunch - amazing - love this place

The Knickerbocker Bar and Grill, a few blocks from Washington Square Park, is clearly a neighborhood haunt. I stopped in while in the city on a Friday evening. There were families with kids, old couples, businessmen at the end of the day, and everyone in between. As such, it seems that they welcome all comers with open arms and the... More

I read reviews and tend to gravitate toward the negative ones and was on the fence, I'm glad to say I was worried for nothing. When did I visit, Christmas week in NYC, so yes it was at a peak time. If your staying in the city it's cheaper to take the subway to the 8th St. NYU station. Come... More

It's not the best food in the world but it is a nice place with nice people and reasonable food. Our favorite is the blistered peppers appetizer. Burgers is good, they also have a turkey burger but go when you have time for a big meal and listen to the piano and enjoy company

We do a NYC steak place, a couple times a year, and we're not super picky. The food was pretty solid, but the tables were so packed together, it definitely impacted our nice dinner. Probably would not go back.

Great service but the food isn't even close to top-drawer NYC. I had their "famous" T-Bone and my wife had their Chicken special. The steak looked amazing but was tasteless. The chicken was over cooked and uneventful. I won't come back or recommend this place.

The absolute worst black bean soup I have ever had. It had no flavor what-so-ever; i.e., it seemed that is was simply a watered down can of black beans. I added some tabasco sauce to give it some flavor. We had the 12 ounce filet mignon; mine seemed to be the right size but my partners was 1/3 smaller, and... More

Even in Texas the Steakportions weren't that huge and they quality is great. Place lacks a bit charme, it's tiny and you don't have a lot of space on the table for the dishes. Prices are okay, over all it was a nice experience.

I came here with family on Christmas Day. This is very professional restaurant indeed. I was brought up, as it were, in the trade as my parents ran a very successful restaurant. Believe me, there can be few greater challenges to face than a packed place with a line outside on that day of all days. The service was remarkably... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
