L'Ecole takes me away from the greater city outside and delivers a consistent dinner in high quality style. I enjoy it's simplicity as well as the great service there. I have been going L'Ecole for 3 years now and more often in the past few months because I like the bar. The greatest compliment I could pay to this enduring... More

My Honey and I love visiting L'Ecole a couple times a year--usually for Restaurant Week. Although the food is prepared by culinary students, the quality rivals that of most high end fine dining experiences in NYC. The bread is awesome and replenished as desired. The fish dishes are perfectly prepared and the presentation of each order is expertly artistic. While... More

We visited L'Ecole with our kids last weekend, and for us it was an anticipated return visit. We had talked up how very cool it is that the restaurant is a working school for the budding restaurateurs, and how wonderful our previous experiences there were. Well, time, an evolving NYC food scene, and maybe age contributed to over-expectations for us.... More

When one leaves the Establishment with positive feelings about everything this place has offered him, then it is a good place to return to expecting to re-live those positive feelings. That is exactly what happened on our return to l’Ecole. The wait Staff is friendly and efficient. One can tell that they try hard to do everything just right. Even... More

The burger I had was priced at 13$ which is quite cheap considering the size and delicacy of it. The beef patty were tasty and well cooked. The staff was kind and helpful, you could really feel that they were doing their best... Over all a great lunch restaurant in one of the best neighborhoods in NYC, SoHo.

Nothing less than awesome. It's a cooking/sommelier school. Get the 13 dollar burger for lunch. Nice staff with great attitude.

My husband and I had an amazing dinner here last night. He had put that it was our anniversary on the reservation and L'ecole made sure to make it special. We were seated in a great spot off to ourselves in the window. It was perfect for people watching and gave us some privacy. The service was the best we've... More

Choice felt a little limited but the food was lovely. The prices are very reasonable indeed for such a nice meal. Not sure why some people were given baguettes on leaving. Maybe its a NY thing.

We found this restaurant on Broadway, when we were having difficulty hailing a cab on a cold afternoon. L'Ecole was comfortable and warm and the staff gave a great welcome. It was late but afternoon we needed lunch and although the menu choice was not wide it was perfectly adequate. The burger served with fries was excellent and I had... More

Staying in SoHo

Neighborhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York, SoHo is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway is teeming with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district – the world’s largest collection of intricate and elegant cast-iron architecture. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city.
