This is one of the great restaurants of New York, and worth making a reservation for anytime you're in the city. It's the only real restaurant on this part of the Broadway, and it's a lovely spot for a quiet lunch in the middle of the hustle bustle. Service and food are always top-notch. Despite it being a student-run restaurant,... More

Wow! Great choices and everything was prepared and serviced beautifully! There were 3 of us and we all tried something different and shared!

We had dinner with our two teenage daughters here on Thursday. The food was excellent, as expected. But it's been a while since we'd enjoyed the level of service we did that evening. Everyone was simply amazing! Attentive, responsive, warm and always smiling. It was a pleasure just to be there! And we got to tour the kitchens, where we... More

The cocktails were great. Too bad ours arrived after our wine for the appetizers, just before the actual appetizers. The starters we had (salads) were ok but I would have hoped for some twist in them. For entrees we had steak and saffron fettuchini. The steak was pretty good, a good medium and the wine pairing worked as well. The... More

My personal impression is that “ambiance” is just as important as the actually good in the art of French gastronomy. And l’Ecole fails at both…Average service (one of the waiters had was charming all others failed terribly), average food, average atmosphere. Recommend: winter seasonal salad Mediocre: sea bass, chestnut cake
$25 lunch, restaurant week.

My husband and I celebrated Valentine's Day this year at L'Ecole Restaurant in Soho and we were treated like a prince and princess! We ordered for the first course the Sunchoke Chowder with seared Bay Scallops (which was delicious - the scallops were sweet and the chowder had the essence of the sea) and the House Made Charcuterie which consisted... This is the restaurant connected to the International Culinary Center in NY. After touring the school we were taken to the restaurant for lunch. What a delightful surprise! The food is cooked by students at the end of their rigorous training. The food was amazing and worth a special trip.

This is a foodie destination in NYC. Innovative food preparation, local fresh ingredients, creative combinations of flavours, good service and a modest but well priced wine list. Reservations are a must and should be planned in advance. This is not a restaurant that is "good for a culinary school" it is just plain good, no excellent. Go, enjoy, relax, ask... More

French Culinary Institute students prepare amazing dishes - loved the goat cheese ice cream! The servers were very attentive and helpful with answering questions about the menu.

Have travelled all over the world and enjoyed many fine meals and this is one of the best in terms of price, quality, atmosphere, and service. My guest and I spent $90 each for the prix fixe four course lunch which included appetizer, fish, meat, and desert. This included a good tip and one glass of wine. Each of us... More
