Went with old friends, been there many times myself. They raised the lunch special to $11, still most definitely worth it! Gom enjoy, great Little Italy restaurant!

Good for a large group. Food is average. Musicians want to be tipped, photographer wants you to buy his pics~ felt like they got you coming and going.

I have been to La Mela several times and have never left hungry or dissatisfied. Their family style meal has something for everyone. The staff is friendly and the food is great.

I've been here twice over the course of 7 years and both times were just amazing. I was recommended this place and told they had great Italian - that's it. I wasn't warned about the odd mixture of servers dressed formally but vinyl tablecloths. About the contradiction in the wonderful voice of the man who walks around and serenades guests,... More

With only an hour's notice they were able to set up dinner for 25 of us. It couldn't have been easier: you sit down at a table with bottles of wine, they bring out a selection of plates served family style for every course, and you have a great time singing with the strolling guitarist. The food was good, not... More

I have to admit I am partial to La Mela because my husband and I ate their on our honeymoon in 1996. We recently returned and though they had grown since then and now occupy two spaces it was still warm and intimate and we had a wonderful lunch outside where we could watch all of the people go by.Thanks... This is a third visit over a few years. The pasta is served al dente, the house wine is all that is needed and the servers are knowledgable of their options. I prefer the cafe side rather than the restaurant side but most prefer the outside seating for people watching and pleasant environment. I shared the 3 course with my... More

I should of known really, when you sit down and you automatically want to leave..my husband thought it was ok but my son and myself just wanted to leave. We have always said we would like to eat down mulberry street..we just picked the wrong one! It didn't taste like it was fresh, fresh from frozen maybe!

I put my trust in the server's hands, and he didn't disappoint. A great meal, lots of courses and types of food...and the least expensive meal coming in at about 65 dollars for 2 people, which included the bottle of wine...a great deal for the big apple!

When ever I have gone to NYC which is roughly every three months -- I always stop and have a mid afternoon lunch at La Mela Restaurant on Mulberry St. In the Little Italy Section of lower Manhattan They have the best pasta fagioli ever! It is a white soup as opposed to red like everywhere else. The food there... More
