Only had coffee and dessert, but both were great!

I had a delicious cappucino and tiramisu on a Saturday afternoon. The service was good but the tiramisu was better. It was $7 and more than worth every penny. I also had a regular brew coffee and it was good as well. I may go back sometime to sample the pasta, but I'll absolutely go back for more... read more

We went to visit Little Italy, and obvious wanted to try something local. We discover la mela, we took the lunch package for 12 dollars, a salad, veal or chicken with pasta. The food was great though the past was a little bit under cooked. Great value for money!

We dine all over the place. Imagine how skeptical we were we when people were standing outside their restaurants calling people to come in a dine. We did have a different place in mind but decided that we will try La Mela. We will be back. Incredible pasta dishes and servings.......real Italian bread. The chicken parm....fantastic.....veal was cooked perfectly.....spaghetti and... More

We travel to NYC once a year as a family vacation and we NEED to come to this place. We always order the family dinner (3 courses) which is ALWAYS TOO MUCH FOOD but so, so good. It has become a real classic in our family!

Ate dinner here on a Wednesday night. A short walk from the subway. I had spaghetti and meatballs and my wife spaghetti and oil. The food was ok. Service was a little slow even though the place was far from busy. It took a little effort to get our check.

Came here for a bachelorette party dinner. Food was average, ambiance is loud and crowded, but service was good. Mind you, our leader went for the non meat family style menu option. I only got to taste the apps and pasta that were just ok. For what we paid per person, it was not worth it. Maybe if we ordered... More

La Mela,Italian for apple, is a jewel in New Yorks Little Italy.Order individually oy I recommend the family plate meals. We ordered the 4 person family meal -the best fresh mozzarella and tomatoes any where, followed by grilled vegetables platter (asparagus, red peppers, stuffed mushrooms and baked cheese. Then the pasta platter arrived which was amongst the best pasta anywhere -... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
