I came here during a business trip with some coworkers. We were initially seated at a table by one person and then told minutes later by someone else that we could not sit there after all and ended up waiting 30 minutes for another table. Once we were seated, our waiter was very slow and always disappearing. I asked for... More

a friend recommended that I come here so my boyfriend and I did. He ordered the fettucini alfredo with chicken and I ordered the penne vodka. It was amazing. The portions were large and the pasta was delicious. I seriously recommend this place to anyone who loves pasta. Our server seemed like he was in a bad mood but honestly... More

While visiting NYC, this restaurant was recommended for our Saturday supper in Little Italy. People sitting on the patio strongly invited us to follow this suggestion! Small but intimate with delicious food. We had printed out a coupon for a glass of wine - no problem. We had the family style choice #1. Huge servings for the 6 of us.... More

This restaurant was recommended by Kelly, the concierge at the Westin Times Square and he was right - it was a great experience! A great family restaurant and the wait staff was very accommodating. The anecdotes shared by the owner "Butch the Hat" were priceless and certainly added to our enjoyment. If you love delicious Italian fare this is the... More

My husband and I went to La Mela by recommendation from a friend who is a true Italian. Amazing food, atmosphere, and service. The portions are HUGE, so sharing is recommended. I had the chicken piccata, my husband had the chicken parm and they were, hands down, the best chicken parm and piccata we've ever had. Finished up dinner with... More

We found ourselves in the Soho / Little Italy area of NYC and were looking for a place to eat lunch. We stumbled across La Mela as we were walking down Mulberry Street trying to choose one of the many restaurants offering patio (sidewalk) dining and daily lunch specials. We settled on La Mela and opted for the daily lunch... More

Mi Cugina Favorita took me here a few times while I was visiting home in Manhattan. I felt like I was eating my grandmothers cooking. First time we went there were 6 of us, next were 3 and again we were 4. We wanted for nothing, great food, atmosphere, staff, drinks. I highly recommend this if you are ever visiting... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
