Great spot after you've visited the new "See Forever" observation area

We had a casual meal here following a great preview of the newly-opened observation floors in the World Trade Center building. I'm happy to recommend the house-made pate, referred to as a "terrine" on the menu. It was robust and very tasty. My husband's onion soup was also top-notch.

A lively and crowded brasserie setting -- be sure to make a reservation. Try one of the interesting cocktails -- the Ode to Manhattan, with a hint of absinthe, was wonderful. The escargot were perfection, the confit de canard was tender, and my husband declared the cassoulet the best he's ever eaten, including at several places in France! End a... More

Pretty much as to be expected. Good food, decent server, no wait for a table. Not a huge fan of heading downtown to dine, but this might be a reason to come back. I found their specials a bit lack luster, but did well just ordering from the menu. I did truly find the soup, in this case mushroom bisque,... More

Once seated we were not disappointed professional swift service of food which was probably the best I've had in NY City. Very cheap prices for home cooked fresh food ,i will return... More

We tried two other restaurants the hotel recommended before selecting Les Halles. They were so helpful because of our mobility issues. It has a European feel to the design, cozy. We ordered the Gratinee des Halles (onion soup), Filet de Boeuf, Béarnaise, Steak au Poivre, Frites, Poulet rôti, Pommes Mousseline, and Profiteroles. We loved every dish! The ice cream on... More

Holidaying in NY we are out to explore as many dining experiences as possible. We are a group 6 friends all with different tastes and appetites. We found this place close to where we were staying. Checked out the tip advisor reviews and decided to give it a go. The food was very impressive for 5 of us. I only... More

Service was great. Food was really good. I like the location, just off of Broadway and close to Wall Street. I am getting a bit old but would have preferred to have had the music a bit quieter although I understand why they have it turned up and it does make it feel a bit busier and more of a... More

We needed a bit of time off our feet after visiting the 9/11 memorial and Trinity Church, so stopped into a little French hole in the wall in the hopes of finding glasses of wine. Instead, we found a very French man who directed us to Les Halles, and were we ever glad he did! Like a nice French brasserie,... More

We were in town to see a matinee at the Schimmel Theater and so we made reservations at Les Halles Downtown. We arrived on time and were promptly seated – and that was the fastest and best service of the next two hours. It was a Saturday and so the only menu available was the brunch menu which had a...
