Convenient and decent

The French Bistro atmosphere is quite charming and this place gets crowded for lunchtime especially during restaurant week, but I do recommend it. They are currently in the hunt for a new head chef so I think this restaurant could go either way in the future. The salad Nicoise and French onion soup... read more

We stopped here for lunch after visiting the 9/11 memorial, and although it was very busy we were seated immediately. The waiters were attentive and we didn't have to wait long for our food. My husband had steak with fries and I had mussels Normande which were both good size portions and equally delicious! I had a glass of the... More

French Food..average....tiny noisy place...if you can't climb stairs and there is no room on street level, don't bother. I had the Coq Au Vin, it was dry and tasted awful. I could have made it better.

Beautiful French bistro atmosphere, great menu but nothing exceptional about the food! No fresh juices except orange! Coffee though is good & a very comfy place to sit in & relax.

The French Bistro atmosphere is quite charming and this place gets crowded for lunchtime especially during restaurant week, but I do recommend it. The service was shocking, we were not introduced to server and had 4 different people wait the table which is funny because it wasn't busy at all. They seemed more interested in preparing the table next to us for what must have been VIPs as they changed the entire table and spent approx 20 min setting and resetting it. It... More

My wife, daughter and I had lunch during restaurant week at downtown Les Halles. We each had one of the three appetizers and entrees and sampled each. Particular favorites were the steak and perfect fries and the scallops. We each got the creme brulee and it was also fantastic. The restaurant decor is very well done with an old time... More

We went to Les Halles for restaurant week. It was exceptional. Appetizers of Pate and Crawfish in Puff Pastry were fantastic. Loves the bread basket. The Ginger Scallops, Steak and Frites were amazing. Creme Brulee out of this world. The waiter was really good but suggested a house wine that was $12.50 a glass. I didn't know the price until... My business partner and I joke that this is "our place". One night of the week (I can't remember which!) they have half priced bottles of wine- which is always a treat. The steak tartare and frites is my favorite. Followed closely by the steak, frites, and salad. It is a simple and well executed meal.

Stopped here for a light lunch, had the confit de canard which was great and the scallops (two of us). Service was friendly. Good value until we got the "would you like macaroons with your coffee?" We knew we'd pay but $12 for a few soggy macaroons really ruined the experience. Why oh why do places have to go for... More
