I had not been to Les Halles in about 10 years. Over 20 years ago I had a business relationship with the owners Phillipe and Jose but that concluded in '00-successfully I might add. I must reveal a positive prejudice however. My friend and I had lunch there on a Tuesday. It was packed and rightfully so. The food was... More

Even just inquiring on Friday morning we could still get a table for 6 for the same day. The service was impeccable, we had a lovely waiter who tried his hardest to make our meal unforgettable, even accommodating our German speaking guests, the waiter surprised by being fluent in this language too. Everything was delicious, there isn't a single dish... More

The quality of the coq au vin was excellent as well as the wine selection was carefully thought out. Service was extremely helpful and professional; server suggested an excellent chocolate dessert. The overall atmosphere was welcoming, yet bustling.

I think my spouse and I were both concerned that this place would be a let down as it's main claim to fame is that Anthony Bourdain used to work here. And in all honesty, that was one of the reasons that we wanted to go. But it really is a great restaurant. We went on a Thursday night (make... More

Saturday lunch met up with friends before flying back home to France. We are all in the travel, hospitality business and spent years living in Lyon.So we know what they are trying to accomplish here. This place is a good approximation to a French brasserie. The chef is on the tele and all that but you wouldn't think so. Pretty... More

I picked this place for lunch because it was near the 9/11 museum that I was going to and because of Anthony Bourdain. I was sadly disappointed. We were sat down quickly (I had a reservation) but wait staff just mingled around, it took us asking for someone to get us a drink after 10 minutes of sitting. Then, we... More

High expectations , but too few results... We wish that a great chef could have delivered much, much more. Let's start with the location. Too far in the heart of downtown, which means, traffic, crowds and all that mess... The facade is recognizable, interiors and decor are splendid and apropos. We began with their version of the truffled deviled eggs... More

Went here for a quick business lunch on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant was filled to the brim and bustilng. Definitely a place where a reservation is a must. Fortunately we were given a corner table which was quite comfortable. Steak frites was great and my other guest enjoyed the mussels. Nice spot in Lower Manhattan. The server could have... More

Went there with a large party and we sat in a nice private room. Steak au poivre was well prepared. Tender meat, perfectly cooked, good amount of pepper and just a little cream (that is how it should be). Fries and salad were very good. Others had canard and scallops and we're happy with the choice. Appetizers were a bit... More

Food: Very good -French style food - the roasted chicken served with green beans and mashed potato with sauce was excellent with cabernet from Napa Ambiance: A touch of class.
