Nice Old World feel, good French food

I work in the neighborhood and am always looking for new lunch options, so was pleased to finally try Les Halles. The service was very good, though it took a little while to track someone down for the check at the end. The menu has a nice variety of French lunch options, whether you want a simple... read more

We neglected to get the name of our server, which is a shame because she was fabulous. A petite blonde ponytailed 20-something woman with glasses, she was knowledgeable, efficient and made sure that a person in our party with severe contact allergies felt comfortable eating what she ordered. We are all in the food industry and really appreciate a professional... More

Tony Bourdain is a hero. To us anyway. He has broadened my and my wife’s horizon of food experience, by showing many things and dishes in exotic and sometimes familiar places. This is our first visit to NY since we came to know him. Our destination is obvious. The place was more spacious than we expected, expectation coming from the... More

Entered Les Halles with high expectations after reading reviews on Tripadvisor. They were not met. Our waitress has probably never heard the word "service" and the ordering and serving were a mess. Luckily a more experienced waiter took over and put things back together. The food was OK, but had no French finesse. The Chablis we had with our food... More

Needed a breakfast spot at the last minute and a quick search if the area led us here. We didn't have a reservation, and it was a Sunday, but it was raining so we ended up being seated right away anyway. We both loved our meals, an omlette (served with VERY TASTY dressed greens and seasoned potatoes!) and brioche french... More

Stayed at the hotel across the street and went for dinner around 9 pm. The food was great. Had a steak and it was delicious. The service was also good. I would recommend the place.

Lured here by the former connection with Anthony Bourdain, we were not disappointed. My French onion soup was hearty and delicious, and my Niçoise salad was fresh and tasty, with plenty of tuna. Wine was half price for a bottle of decent house white. The setting is classic brasserie and the service was friendly and efficient. Very pleasant experience.

Ate breakfast here, had the salmon eggs Benedict and it was excellent. Other guests had crepes, and steak and eggs and all report an excellent breakfast.

We haven't been to Les Halles in a few years and as we were aware there had been changes in their chef, we weren't sure we would like it. NO WORRIES! The food was great and the service better than before. The steak frites is a bargain and sooo good. We also had a half order of delicious mussels (in... More

My friends and I are in the 65+ group. When we arrived at 7:30PM we were led through the front section, which was half filled with young couples and families,to a rear room at the back. Strike 1! We ordered wine buy the glass, red and white. Had to send both back, undrinkable. Second choices were better, not good, better... More
