Good food, casual surroundings

We had dinner here on our first night in NYC, because the restaurant was close to the hotel. Food was solid and authentic (though pricey); surroundings were casual and friendly; service was average.

Great watermelon juice. Loved the Super spinach quesadilla. The place has been there fore 40 years. I will definitely be back!

Near hotel. Average food but reasonable. Bad desserts, good Mexican food. Small place so sometimes you need to wait.

We visited Lupe's on the last night of our NYC trip. It was right next to our hotel in Soho and it was the PERFECT way to end our trip. The salsa was homemade and amazing and the burrito was to die for. The only reason for not giving it a five star was because there was not enough waiters... More

I've had Mexican food throughout Los Angeles. Each please has a slightly different taste, depending on it's region. While it was quite tasty. The ambience is lively and fun. It was nice to eat some good Mexican food while in NY. They offer vegetarian and meat lovers options:-) all eggs are organic:-) Note: originally I had posted 4 stars but took... More

We stumbled across Lupe's (just around the corner from Trump Soho) and popped in for a late breakfast. It was quiet when we were there but the place still had a good 'feel' with very decent music playing. I had the torta egg sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. Lupe's has a retro, authentic feel and I'm just sad I... More

Needed somewhere close to a client meeting and gave this place a shot. OMG! Probably the best pork carnitas tacos I have ever had! Perfectly crispy and delicious. And they have my favorite red and green Habanero hot sauce on every table. Can't wait to go back to NYC and eat here again.

Enjoyed lunch here several times while working nearby. Nice menu with equal parts vegetarian options to meat, both sides of the menu are delicious and filling. I found the booths and tables always full but a short wait or it was easy to find space at the counter. Menu and approach is very much East LA as opposed to classic... More

Visited Lupe's after a long day of travel and sight seeing. Hungry, tired and "in need" of a margarita :) we decided to try out the Mexican place situated a stone's throw from our soho hotel. The service was quick and extremely hospitable. The margaritas were average, served from a dispenser on plenty of ice. An ounce more of tequila... More

Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway is teeming with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district – the world’s largest collection of intricate and elegant cast-iron architecture.
