Very good food, original combination of ingredients for a delicious result, and service extremely nice. Worth a visit, or two, or three.... :)

Yes, only three blocks from the Doubletree Hotel Times Square South is a cool neighborhood cafe with chic tables adorned with lime and lemon water vessels on the table to quench your thirst while you peruse the menu for a perfect breakfast. The alternative jazz and Caribbean sounds will keep you marching back to the Market Cafe!

We visited Market Cafe for dinner. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. The prices were reasonable. The bread before the meal was very good, but the oil could have used a little more red pepper or some other spices in it. I ordered the spinach salad with green apples and cranberries and added bacon and it was wonderful.... More

We had a lovely gluten free meal here. They have a separate gf menu. The shrimp bruschetta was excellent as were the scallops, steak tacos and herb fries were also a hit. GF rice pudding and caramel sauce delicious - great service and nice atmosphere.

Market Cafe was a very pleasant find on our recent trip to New York. My wife wanted dinner, but I wasn't overly hungry - this was a great spot where she could get a full meal and I could snack on appetizers. Food was very good, drinks were good. Our server was a friendly, if not eclectic, fellow. The food... More

This was one of the better finds thanks to a local and not too far from Times Square and not full of tourists, Food was interesting without being over complicated and extremely good. great atmosphere, good value too.

A snowy evening before a Broadway play, my husband and I found our way into this small storefront resturant in expensive New York City. The setting was modern, looked at first like a diner, but was amazingly clean. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. It was gormet all the way, from the water which was served with a fresh... I cannot say enough great things about this place! When you walk in, it's a little on the small, intimate side and has an appearance of a diner- only a much nicer diner. There are white tables, which almost make the restaurant appear to be bigger. The servers were AMAZING, top notch! They checked on us often. When I arrived... More

Arrived with hungry 13 month old who was a bit fussy, but staff quickly got high chair and bread to solve the problem. Hummus good with garlic tinged pita. Flatbread requires 15-20 minutes but worth the wait. Chocolate cake wonderful end to a satisfying meal. Beer selection interesting.
