I am a student at Columbia, and Ollis's is the restaurent that I always hang out with my friends. All of us like it.
If you love Chinese food, this is definitely a good one in New York City. Prices are reasonable and the place is huge although there's usually a line, the turnover is quite fast so you won't wait long.
Food is at best mediocre, service the same. We went there and asked for a dish to be made without calamari, as my wife has an allergy. When it came out wrong we asked for a new one. Instead of new dish, they clearly PICKED OUT the calamari and presented the same plate (with some of the calamari still in,... More
Unless you've been told of a specific recommended dish from a friend, it's hard to guarantee you'll enjoy your meal. There is a lot of variation in quality from dish to dish. Any of the dishes with sauces (such as sweet and sour sauce) seem to follow the same formula: cook vegetables and/or meat in bulk and add sauce at... More
Busy chinese restaurant in front of columnia universiyy entrance. The soups are really uge and cheap. Unfortunately they are tasteless.
Good food. For a lot less. Never expected to have good Chinese food outside of china town. Service was quick. The servants or waiters need to be more hygienic though. I lost my appetite when one of them went close by. Other than that its was all good. I would recommend this restaurant for people want good Chinese food for... More
We used to always love Ollie's when it was in the theater district, but they moved several years ago. Now they are on Broadway north of Columbus Circle and the quality of their food has deteriorated. We probably won't go back again.
Good food, not so expensive. Try any dishes with Chinese Brookli And scallion pancakes are a must. The area is fun to walk around with many great places to visit an amazing apple store and also the movie teather
good basic chinese that is quick cheap and noisy!
OMG!! Love this place for lunch. GREAT VALUE and lots of food for the price. The uptown location has a much better lunch selection. Not a place to sit and relax as they hustle you in and out during lunch but worth it when you got only an hour!
