Neighborhood restaurant ambiance, fair prices and decent food.

Neighborhood place. Ate there twice this month. Intimate and quiet. Salads were good. Veal and chicken good. Despite name, fish dishes were weaker. Bread marginal. Prices are good, portions large. Wine and cocktails fairly priced too. I'd go back just for neighborhood restaurant ambiance, fair... read more

This is a cosy resturant ideal for couples or small groups. Me and my husband went there this summer and tried their seafood pastas and I must say, these guys know how to make really delicious pasta. It was one of the best seafood pastas I've ever had. I am not a huge fan of mussels but that day I... More

It was a quiet lunch time. The restaurant was almost empty, and we had all the attention for the best service. After tasting the meatballs we have decided that this was definitely an inspiration to the well known Disney' s movie. We will come back for more mane items.

To cut a long story short, we had booked into a jazz club and ate a starter elsewhere whilst we were waiting for the doors to open. Based on the food we got, we decided to skip the club and go and find somewhere else to eat. A short distance away, we spotted the Trattoria Pesce Penne. From the outside... More

This was my second time at TPP; both times with friends who eat here often. I'm not sure I love it as much as they do, but the food is good, the atmosphere is very much old Greenwich Village; and the prices are not out of line. The service good - perhaps because my friends come here so often, I... More

What an amazing restaurant, a real Italian meal. The prosciutto and melon was delicious and plentiful. The red snapper special with capers, olives, and tomatoes was so flavorful. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great for conversation. The menu is varied enough to satisfy children and adult foodies. I'm looking foward to my next meal here in the... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant as we were looking for a place for lunch. The restaurant is located in an old building which dated back to the 1800s and the restaurant is traditionally but beautifully decorated. We ordered a seafood pasta which is their special for the day, it was indeed special! Mussels lined the outer circumference of the big... More

This was one stop on a Greenwich Village food tour. We were served the best meatballs I have ever tasted. They had a tangy sauce made from special tomatoes. The restaurant is small but very attractive. I look forward to eating here again.

We ordered the pasta with lobster, muscles, and clams and it was very delicious. The prices were good and so was the wine. A large group of retired locals were dining here so we knew we were in the right place.

Wonderful Italian restaurant at Bleeker and Carmine just off 6th Ave in NYC. We came here for my son's birthday who happens to live in the neighborhood. We had the basics, Spaghetti with Meatballs, Chicken Parmegania, and Lasagna with Meat and each was excellent. The Parmegania came with the usual side of pasta and one of us ordered a starter... Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
