Nice dinner with friends on our NYC trip

Four of us ate here. It was a nice dinner. The food was very good. We got to meet Lunella herself, who came out to talk to the customers. We very much enjoyed our evening. The only thing that I really did not like was the 22.6% tip added to the bill. We were a table of 4, not 14,... read more

I have been trying to put into words the mixed feelings I had in this restaurant. I think the best way to describe it is to say that this is a genuine Italian restaurant in the heart of Little Italy. And it is genuine because it has a lot of the good and some of the bad things that some... More

Visited Lunella's for lunch in Little Italy. Food was really good but the wait staff and cashier need a lesson in customer service.

So after waking around mulberry street, we finally settled on lunella. A small quaint restaurant on mulberry street in little Italy. The food is inexpensive. We started with an order of calamari, baked clams and a side of meatballs. All were excellent, especially the meatballs. So good we ordered another order. They were moist and succulent. Their tomato sauce was... More

After walking around and exploring Little Italy in NYC, we decided to eat at Lunella. One of the reasons is that it looked quiet enough and reminded us of our past experience in eating at Little Italy in terms of authenticity. It had no verbose individuals standing ouside hailing you in. There was a great variety of pastas ans other... More

Owner Lunella greeted us out front and was pleasant, even showing us a proud picture of her grandson when she came back to check on our meal. I had Striped Bass, in light tomato sauce, portion size just right and very tasty. My bf had chicken parm which was also very good and they added shrimp no problem as he... More

Nestled along a stretch of several Italian restaurants on Mulberry Street in the Little Italy section of New York City is Lunella's Restaurant. With a wide variety of food choices with an inexpensive price, we enjoyed private seating in the rear of the eatery. Served in a timely manner, we were able to stroll the shops afterwards. Best to make... More

While I was the only person that enjoyed their meal out of my table of 5 I have to give a general review. The service was iffy at best, no sort of warmth. All of the staff looked Italian so we thought that were going to get an authentic experience, sadly we left underwhelmed about the Italian experience.

From the moment we walked in the owner and waiters were attentive and entertaining. The food was AMAZING! The atmosphere GREAT. We went in the evening and it was a hot summer night with the front doors open to the street. It was a real pleasure meeting the waiters. Especially our waiter who was from Argentina. He had a very... More

We came across this place on our first night in New York, it was literally down the road from our hotel. Overall the place is nice and the food above average. We sat outside so we could see the world go past. I tried the faro which I was told was like risotto, it wasn't, but that is not the... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
