I first visited the Rocking Horse a few years back and loved it. After a couple more visits this year, I am happy to say that it is still as excellent as ever. Big portions of honest, tasty, nicely presented Mexican food is what the place is all about. The burritos (with the black beans served on the side, a... More

This is one of the most under-appreciated restaurants in New York. The food is outstanding. There are spicy dishes for people like me, but there are milder options for others. Comparatively speaking, this has to be one of the best values in Manhattan. The prices are reasonable and yet the quality is as good as anything you can get for... More

Went here for a Sunday Brunch to meet friends while I was visiting the city. I had some type of sandwich that had pork, was grilled, and smothered in cheese. It broke my diet but it was well worth it! Definitely order their chips and salsa - the salsa was different from any other salsa I've had and was really... More

Excellent Mexican food with a twist. We tried the guacamole, shrimp tamale and fish tacos from the small plates menu and all were very very good. Plenty big enough for sharing. Our entrees were both from the specials menu - seafood risotto and short ribs, both terrific. Top notch service.

We tried this restaurant the first evening in NYC as it was not far from our hotel. My wife and I had 3 small dishes and one special of the day. We are speaking about Mexican food with a slight twist. All the dishes were very good and freshly prepared. According to my wife the cocktail was excellent and I... More

I've been to rocking horse a few times now and it's always been a positive experience. It can get a little hot inside at the back both winter and summer. Friendly staff who aren't shy to refill the great drinks they prepare. Nice diversity on the menu, great tasting and authentic Mexican cuisine. Would definitely recommend and return! Try their... This is some great mexican food! We went and just shared a bunch of their small plates (something like Tapas) and left full and satisfied. Their tequila on the menu was great, the guacamole is out of this world, and their shrimp tamales, and duck crepes are out of this world. Go here!

This is our goto Mexican place. They've been around more than twenty years. And it's always great. Food. Service. Price are spot on. What amazes me most is that they are always packed and yet it's never hard to get a table.

This is a terrific cafe with super friendly staff, great food and drinks, lots of healthy choices at really good prices. The Vida Virde kale juice is terrific. Also great free delicious salsa!

Have been coming back to Rocking Horse for the past few years, (every time we're in NYC) Excellent food. The Salmon main is especially good! Great atmosphere and very friendly efficient staff.
